Believe it or not, this pair of awesome and stylish rubber boots is the cheapest size 7 rubber boot Amazon.ca offers. I got it for 29.99 plus tax. These come up to the very top of my calf, all my calf covered. One calf is bigger and these boots still fit great on both boots instead of being tight on my right side. There is enough room to add a pair of jeans over the leggings while staying comfy. They are loose in ankle which I like for movement. Of course, I bought them because of my semi-long stay in Tahsis, in a rain forest.
I might edit my review once I have tested these boots in extreme water conditions.
First of all, I will say that I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of these boots. They are thick, warm and so far "water proof" though the packaging does explicitly say water resistant and to not be submerged. For walking down city streets in the rain though, they are perfect.
The material is nice, and looks like fabric even though it is a matte rubber print. The only complaint I have with the design of the boots is that my calves are slightly larger and the boots are definitely snug and kind of bunch a little when I walk. They are VERY comfortable though and even on day 1 I did not have blisters or any discomfort before breaking them in. I'm typically between an 8.5 and a 9 and I ordered a 9 and they fit just as expected (minus the calves).
I really love these rain boots! I have been searching everywhere for a very long time for cute and fairly inexpensive rain boots and finally I have found them! I got the black/grey Herringbone design and they are adorable! I have already gotten several compliments on them after wearing them once! The design looks like fabric but it is indeed rubber and vinyl (waterproof). The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the other reviewers are correct, the sizing is off. I took heed of this and ordered a full size down (I am regularly an 8 so I ordered a 7). I am pleased that I did. The 7s fit rather comfortably and are quite similar to a size 8. If you read the whole description on the product page, it recommends you get a full size down from your regular size and it is true! The boot seems to be pretty durable and keeps the water out. I live in Florida so I expect to get a lot of use out of these since we get so much rain in the summer months. One last thing, the buckle on the sides of the boots seems to just be for design and isn't very functional, however, you can move it to make the boot a little wider or narrower in the calf and upper section. Overall, a very nice pair of boots!
These boots are great. I received them literally two days before the huge floods that the Chicagoland area just experienced, and thank God for that. They are totally waterproof and have good traction/grip. They are very colorful and even though I thought at first they might be a little "too much", I get compliments on them all the time and with all the colors, they really go with anything.
Only complaint is that the first time I tried them on, the adjustable "buckle" strap almost totally tore on one of the boots. It's a cheap plastic and not very strong. You won't really need to adjust the straps, probably, but the material is slippery and flimsy on the straps. The boots themselves are great. I could fit my bootcut jeans into them without feeling smushed. I'm normally a 7.5 or 8. Got a 7 and that was perfect.
These are are cool rain boots. The Van Gogh iris pattern takes them to the next level. This is the second pair I got for my wife, because she likes the pattern so much. They only get 4 stars since she needs the second pair because the first pair cracked on one of the boot's foot area.
So far, these boots are great! I bought them because our yard in western Pennsylvania turns into a swamp half of the year, and I'm tired of soaking my tennis shoes just to walk something out to our shed. So far, I haven't had a chance to use them on a rainy day, but I have used them to shovel our snowy driveway a few times, and they work well to keep my feet dry, but not warm. As others have stated, they do run a bit large; I typically wear a size 7.5-8 so I ordered a size 7, and with a thick pair of socks, they fit pretty well. The inside liner is nice, because it's soft, with a thin layer of velvet, which isn't typical of most boots. The pattern is great, so they get two thumbs up for the design, but the buckle leaves a bit something to be desired. Overall, I would say that they're a great buy, but I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because they're not amazingly comfortable on your feet, but so far, they do their job!
