A good collaboration between 50 cent and Robert Greene. A thorough read on topics about having a bigger vision on your life and thinking of ways to acheive it. More fundamentally taking action to do so. Robert Greene is writing the story here and uses examples from 50 Cent's life on how he made it from being a drug dealer and then selling his own music on the streets, to becoming a hugely successful rap superstar and starting and owning other businesses away from music. Other historical figures are used as examples of how they preserved and accomplished their goals. The book details how people have to be fearless and use discipline to survive, strive and become successful in this fiercely competitive world.
Ever hear of the famous phrase "Iron Hand in a Velvet Glove" ?
If you have read Robert Greene's masterpiece "The 48 Laws of Power", then you have only read about the 'Velvet Glove' part - that book deals with how to change your OUTWARD mannerisms to project power.
On the other hand, this book "The 50th Law" is the 'Iron Hand' part - the psychological 'steel' INSIDE you and how to develop it through utter fearlessness. This is the ACTUAL SOURCE of your power - your mind!
Don't mistake this book as some sort of lecturing motivational piece. If you are starting out a small business or are an entrepreneur, there are all elements to help you deal with a slimy world of indifferent and hostile enemies which you may face in your day to day life, stuff that other so-called business books will skirt altogether.
Truly eye-opening insights into REAL human behaviour. There are techniques of seeing things as they are (Intense Realism), instilling Authority, developing Self-Belief, insights into Connections and Mastery. The case studies provided here are bombastic as well, having examples of much more tougher and resilient individuals who have broken through in the face of life-and-death situations.
I'll go as far as to say that this book is the new "Bhagwad Gita" of this day - great advice for today's Arjunas. Highly recommended as a successor to "48 Laws".
Wonderful combination Robert and Curtis aka 50 cent, put the laws of survival, personal growth and business development into today's generation. Straight to the point, gloves off no time to waste. Definitely one to refer back to from time to time!!
Forced me to learn to embrace my whole being, even the parts that make others feel uncomfortable. Life has made us who we are and shrinking away from the dark parts of ourselves does our personality no justice. It's a relief to be able to B-R-E-A-T-H-E.
