I have used the
L'Occitane Hand Cream, Lavender, 2.6 Fluid Ounce
for a couple years now and love the way it feels. It works so well on my very dry skin, and leaves a faint, pleasant scent behind. It's worth the money because it works (and doesn't take a lot each use), and the smell doesn't knock you off your feet. (Note: The Lavender doesn't smell like a 100% true essential oil lavender, but it's not unpleasant. It's light and has a mild citrus tone to it as well, but the scent fades fast while the moisturizing effects linger.)
So I decided I'd try a smaller version to keep in my purse, and bought the smaller Cherry Blossom one. Yes, it has the same *feel* as the Lavender, and it doesn't leave behind a greasy residue (neither does the Lavender), but the scent is really, really strong.
It doesn't smell like real cherries. It doesn't smell like "cherry" flavor either. It may smell like cherry blossoms, though. I don't know. I've never smelled a cherry blossom. ;)
Regardless, it has an incredibly strong floral perfume-y smell, which (unlike the Lavender) does not fade quickly at all. I've had to wash my hands to get the smell off, and it still lingers after, but they're dry again because I've washed the lotion off. :(
So if you're not afraid of really strong floral/perfume scents, this might work for you. But if you're wanting something that will be just as amazing for dry skin without the strong smell, go with the Lavender instead.
At first I loved this product, it feels silky, but not greasy, then within minutes it's like it's gone...? Hands don't remain moisturized. The initial feel is heavenly however. The smell is really nice. Just wish it kept hands feeling moist, I feel like I need to apply more, tried that...but still the same.
Don't get me wrong, I really like this hand cream and the smell is absolutely lovely. Not to mention shipping was great (although it could have come in a MUCH smaller box or even in an envelope or something). My only gripe about this product is that it is really small. It's 1 oz and for $12 (plus shipping bringing it almost to $20), is just way too little for my buck.
