To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
In an effort to move away from products with toxic ingredients (like Loreal hairspray) I happened upon this product. The reviews were good and the price was reasonable so I figured I would give it a try. When it came I tried it right away on dry hair. I immediately loved the smell. It had a nice soft mist and at first I was like 'wow, I like this stuff.' Then it dried and my hair felt very dry and it made my head itchy. It really did not hold at all once it dried so I'm not sure why it's called a 'hold.' Sorry but there was no shine either or softness...
I have really thick, curly hair, and this was somehow too heavy to use directly on my hair. I typically use different oils on my hair and i've never had an issue with a product being too heavy for me. I've found that if I spray on my hands and disperse it throughout my hair, after all products are applied, it's a little better. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who has thinner hair, or who are prone to their hair being oily.
When first applied, it seemed great. My hair was shiny and seemed to be good. By the end of the day, it was obvious that the product formed a crust on my hair similar to what I'd get by applying a *ton* of cheap hair spray - and my hair is dry. No thanks.
On the bright side, like the rest of the Coconut & Hibiscus line, it does smell nice.
I use the shampoo and conditioner from this line and they are fine (nothing great, but fine) but the spray is basically like putting water on your hair. It did nothing to tame my frizz although it did slightly bring out the curl. I'm going back to John Frieda instead.
Like skin everyone’s hair is different. I bought this product in stores and absolutely loved it but this time around ordering it off of amazon I had a hard time getting through day. My hair felt like it was coated and left it feeling (& looking) extremely rough. I couldn’t tolerate the smell! To me it smelled like a chemical from latex or plastic. Very disappointed.
