I am using the litter pan without the wire grid as the grid doesn't stay in place and my rabbit is freaked out when it moves. Since the grid is not on it, she sits in the litter pan most of the time, which means her feet and bum are dirty. It does fasten to the cage well and is easy to take out and clean
To begin, I have a ferret and a bunny and used this for both (Each had their own). So this review is a mixed combination of each experience. This works how it is supposed to (keeps droppings out of cage and keeps pet from flinging poop across the room) but I do not recommend using it. The wire grate hurt my pets feet I'm guessing because he kept taking it out. I ended up taking it off and throwing it away because it got stained and gross and would not come clean. So he was just using the pan. Which was easy to clean, it just got disgusting and pointless because I ended up having to put bedding in it so they weren't walking in their own liquid poop/pee. So once I had the bedding in and they used it, the bedding would soak up pee like it's supposed to, but then would get flung all over the place (sometimes with ferret poop attached... Not a pretty or clean sight). If you have a ferret I would not recommend this litter box. For a bunny it is ok but he did not like the wire grate either and we had the same problem as above. And when he was using the wire grate the poop would just pile up above the wire in one use.
