These are fine, but for the price I would just go with a non-name-brand. I bought two boxes and I've had to pour milk out and into another bag about 1/3 of the time because the "zipper" seems to have a hole in the area where it ends into the bag and the milk drips out through the seam on the side. I bought a box of the the generic Kroger kind and haven't had that issue. When these work they seem to work well, it's just a pain to not have them be reliable.
I've been using the Ameda bags for 3 months now. I don't have much problem with them BUT I'm noticing that some of them do not seal all the way. I found this out after defrosting a bag of frozen (first time to use frozen) and it was spoiled even though it was in a deep freezer. I have been double checking the bags and at least 1 bag per day doesn't seal properly. I end up throwing the leaky bags away because it's not safe.
Cons: Bags do not seal as well as they should. The measurements is off by about 1/2-3/4 of an oz. Somewhat difficult to attach to the adapter to pump straight into the bag (hard to get off after pumping without tearing. Can't put bag down after pumping.
Pros: Sturdy. Pour spout. Stand up nicely in fridge/freezer for easy storage.
It's nice and convient when freezing milk, however I'm really dissapointed it didn't come with the adapter you need, only the 20 count comes with the adapter. My wife just pumps like normal then pours it into the bags. I suppose once we get the ones with the adapter it will make a little less of a clean up since you won't have to clean the bottles. The price is probably around right for them but seems a little expensive to use these all the time at $0.50 a bag
This is the only breast milk storage bags I've used so I don't really have anything to compare it too. But my biggest complaint is that the zipper seal doesn't seal tight very well and leaks often. Because of that, I will probably buy a different kind next time.
As other users have commented, the volume measurements are totally off because of the way the bag sits, but that wasn't really a problem for me because I pumped into bottles, saw the measurements, then poured it into the bags.
I haven't had any real issues with this bag and have been using it as well as other brands for the past four months. All I have really noticed is that lower price bags do just as great when it comes to storing milk! I have tried these, simplisse, lansinoh, and medela. And they are all great bags. This one does have the cool rip and pour feature, but is that worth the extra money? I guess that's up to you!
I like the pour part of these storage bags. It makes it real easy to pour into the baby bottles. I would've given more stars but I had a bunch where the ziploc-seal wasn't glued onto the bags and I didn't know it until i layed the filled bags down and my milk spilled all over my countertop :( I was very sad to have wasted milk i had just pumped!!
