Hate using soapstone, decided to try this metal marker instead. Lines are visible, but they don't illuminate when using torch or welding. If you need thin lines you are going to be sharpening it between each line. Sharpener gets filled up pretty quickly and you can't use it anymore. So after couple of days I switched to regular pencils and soapstone. Would recommend it only to those who will use couple times a day in hobby projects.
Best marking device for black colored surfaces. Stands up to wet a little but I recommend drying surfaces off. If you have this item a scribe and a sharpie permanent marker. You can do layout on any surfaces.
I could not get the maker to come out of the pen at all so I tried feeding the marker in from the tip. That was very difficult and the marker would not advance without pulling on it. I removed the marker, pressed on the cap and noticed one of the 3 jaws was not moving out from the center properly. I forced it with a metal rod with the same diameter and now it works fine
I saw this product on a Youtube video and decided to try it. Marking lines with chalk for cutting and welding metal isn't accurate, and pencil is invisible. The Silver-Streak makes a nice sharp line that is easily visible through a welding helmet. Works on rusty, dirty, and greasy metal.
