My grandson is 4 years old and ready for board games after looking around I decided on this one. The board itself is a large jigsaw which needs assembling first. The game is simple to play you throw a dice and move around collecting houses as you go. If a player lands on a wolf you spin the spinner and huff and puff and try to blow the house down. The first player to collect all their houses and get safely to the middle of the board wins. This is a load of fun and it’s a game my grandson can play without help it also makes counting fun.
This was the first board game I bought for my almost 4 year old son. We've been playing a few times now and he understands some of the rules but not all of them yet. Nevertheless he seems to have a lot of fun when playing and keep asking to play it. I like it and recommend to other parents!
Bought as a birthday party gift. Can't go wrong with Orchard games. They are great quality and good fun. Even the littlest people seem to be able to get the hang of Orchard games. A great introduction to turn taking and playing games together.
Aim of the game is to build your three houses and make it to the "safe" house made of bricks before the wolf blows them down. Great quality and nice pieces suitable for little hands. Maybe more suitable for children say five and up. Bought for my four year old nephew who liked blowing down the houses more than building them but may be more suitable in a year or so.....if it's not already gone to the charity shop by then.
I bought this game to play with a 3 year old & a 4 year old that I childmind, but it's the older children of 6 upwards who enjoy it most as the fun element of stealing your opponents pants is lost on the little ones.
