I had a few things from Zefal in the past, and I've found their stuff great quality. These were really easy to fit - simply attach the L shaped bracket to front and rear hangers (almost all bikes will have pre-drilled holes, as did my front suspension forks) and then slide on the mud guards. The rear guard also clips to the down tube. It couldn't be much easier, and the fact that the mud guard is held by a metal bracket means that they are not going to come off accidently. They slide on and off the brackets without too much trouble and are then held securely. In use, the guards provide excellent protection.
These guards are easy to fit, provide great protection, and are easy to remove when the weather improves. Recommended.
Having bought an Ibera rack, my existing rear mudguard no longer fitted. I read a few reviews and decided to give these a go. At £9 including delivery I didn't expect much, however I was really surprised by overall quality and fitting. The type of plastic makes them quite flexible, yet the fittings keep them fairly rigid. They were easy to fit only requiring a h4 hex and an 8mm spanner (or socket) just to make sure they were tight.
In terms of effectiveness and longevity I can't comment as they are only just fitted and not experienced water and dirt yet.
The rear may be a bit short for total prevention of spray, however I think they fit the style of the bike nicely and don't look old fashioned.
These are very nice light weight mudguards that also cover a large area of the wheels.
The rear guard fits very easily to my cyclocross bike and stops nearly every speck of mud or grime coming onto me.
The front however, I could not fit as the bolt supplied is not long enough for my forks. In fact, when comparing to other bikes, the supplied bolt seems to only fit forks that are the skinny steel type. And on this note, I have yet to fit the front guard as it is not easy to find a bolt that will go right through my carbon forks.
Just a note to the supplier, could you please post out a longer bolt?
Very flimsy and the instructions on the label (4 small pictures) aren't very clear so I went on-line, where the instructions were no more than those very small pictures enlarged! We figured it out and as for the flimsiness, I guess you get what you pay for. My biggest issue - I did look at all the measurements to make sure they would fit my bike, sorted the back one out but the front one still not on yet. This is because this is the one that needs a longer screw to fix it and the long screw sent with it is far too short. For the price, rather than complain and return we just bought a screw to fit but if they'd been expensive it would've been another matter. Packaging was way, way oversized!!!
Great fit on my Specialized Sirrus Disc (2017). Really inexpensive but great quality and all the necessary brackets and bolts are provided. However... one bolt included should be longer because it was in fact too small to fit through the bar in my fork - I actually had to find a longer bolt elsewhere. The bolt (either one) should easily fit the rear, if at all needed.
I like the extra stability of the rear fender due to the clip to the vertical bar that houses the seat post.
Added bonus... doesn't look dorky like traditional looking mudguards.
On the plus side they look pretty good and will probably last quite well. I found these hard to fit though, maybe it's just my bike but the screw for the front guard was too short so had to find another screw in my toolbox that wasn't ideal and fiddly to get right. Also didn't keep the mud off, went off-road on a muddy day and had heavy mud stripes on both my front and back. Again, might just be the shape of my bike (Dawes Discovery 201) so can't speak for all those that seem happy with them.
One screw is too short, one screw is not threaded completely and it's useless, the holder on the back one is too short can't catch the frame completely, the mudguards in itself are too short for a 700cc, these are useless for me will definitely return.
Bought these based on value for money and 'looks'. Quite easy to fit, i used one of the bolts supplied but discarded the standard nut supplied in favor of my own 'nyloc nut' - the other bolt supplied was not quite long enough for fitting the rear mudguard to my frame, so i used my own bolt and nyloc nut. The plastic is of a decent rigid quality and i am very pleased overall with the product.
Great they were easy to fit and do the job a mudguard is supposed to do.They went on with a front and rear reflector connected to them and no problems, stay where they are supposed to be and keep the correct height from the wheel as well as the width being enough to cover the tyre(no spray coming out the sides)..Give them a try for what they cost its a great piece of simple kit.
