I made the biggest mistake using cheap bleach and even the overhyped L'oreal blue bleach --all of which killed my hair and fried precious inches off on my quest for achieving blonde hair on my naturally dark locks at home. I was going to give up, but THANK GOD I found this! I use it with Ion Step 1 for protection and tone with Wella, and finally I have blonde hair! Unlike other bleaches, it doesn't make my hair crunchy and hard (and make it feel like I'm killing my hair) while using it. Now I know I can achieve blonde hair at home. I'm so happy! Don't get the super cheap stuff, get this! The tub is so big anyway that with the amount of uses you get with it, it still works out to be cheap. Way way cheaper than salon treatments for sure!
After a fail with Garnier Nutrisse Ultra color D01, I tried this on several test strands, to assess different developer strengths, timing, additives, etc. I put the strands through 3 x 60 minutes of back to back bleaching, and I can't believe how soft the hair is still. Though product did not lift 7 levels in one go for me on the test strands (I have a level 3/4 and even after the 3rd round, it was around an 8), it seems I have a lot of red undertones, even though my hair is a regular brown, but the bleaching brings them out while making it a challenge to lift. However, when applied on my head, it bleached my roots to a level 9 in 2 hours. So heat is an important factor. My only issue is that I had to purchase a huge tub, when my goal is just to dye a thick strand to silver.. will probably last me 5 years! But the big tub was cheaper than the smaller container... Totally worth it! UPDATE: This is really a good bleach! I tried it again, and it actually lifted my level 4 hair to a 10 on an inch of roots and a 9 on the lengths. I left it on for 90 minutes. I had soaked my hair in coconut oil for a week and my hair is still quite healthy considering it's been bleached now several times.
Great product. I use ion sensitive scalp 30 volume developer with this bleach powder on my dark brown roots , leave it on for about 35 minutes and then use a purple shampoo for another 30 minutes to get perfect toned blonde/white hair.
I used this bleach powder with hydrogen peroxide developer (Volume 30). It lightened my hair to the picture color - yellow-ish. But I dyed my hair successfully into a vibrant purple. This product is a little expensive, compared to the bleach at pharmacy.
I had dark brown level 4 with some sections being level 6+7. I did one 35 minute round of this stuff with 20 vol developer and it took all my hair to a level 9/10! Little damage done as well. Highly recommend for people with red tones in their hair 😁.
i usually use the loreal one that everyone says is overrated and bad for your hair. but when I used this one (wella's) and scalp was soooooo itchy and at some point it was burning in some spots but when I stood in cold water is was simmering down. idk if it was because of the environment but I used it under the same conditions as I always do with my loreal one which caused no scalp problems. i will say though that the wella one leaves my hair softer after bleaching. the lifting is pretty much the same with loreal
I had to lift dark brown coloured hair to 9 or 10 level. Lifted to 9 in one go. First time that I did it myself and worked pretty good considering my hair colour was rather dark and mid length. Used 30v koleston prefect creme developer. I followed instructions from the package and online videos how to do it. I created a very smooth, creamy and not too thick mixture. Took me a while to do it myself, but it worked. Left it on for about 45 minutes and did checks on my hair every 10 mins or so, applied additional mixture on darker spots. Before toner, I put on a hair mask for 25 mins to give hair a break between bleaching and toner application, rinsed it, dried it. Used brass kicker and pure silver tone, kept it on my hair for good 35 minutes, to achieve my goal of ashe blonde look with subdued silvery tone. It has been 3 weeks now since my "experiment" and still looks good and hair also in good shape. Time taken to achieve this: little over 4 hours. Important: I decided not to bleach it again to get to level 10 as there was no need and also not sure my hair would survive.
