I purchased this in the hopes it would work with VR headsets (I have a Oculus Rift), unfortunately it doesn't. This is a passive adapter which is what the Rift needs, but this model doesn't work. I managed to find a DP to HDMI adapter at a local shop that did work. Also, if you want to use a DP to HDMI adapter for VR (Virtual Reality) headsets, do NOT get a active adapter, those will not work, and even the passive adapters have to have the proper specs to work with VR. This adapter's model number is 102018, the one that supposedly works with VR is 102028. Live and learn! LOL
The cable works fine going from a displayport PC to a Panasonic TV via HDMI cable (audio and video), BUT it stopped the audio playing whenever I switched over to my media server which uses the audio return channel through HDMI port 2 on the TV to play through my sound system. I know it was the converter because when I unplugged it the media server sound was fine and also the previous PC was HDMI connected and I had no sound problems. I have had to use another HDMI port on the TV for the PC connection now, so sound only comes through the TV speakers on PC connect. 5 stars for the cable less 3 stars for the problem
Funktion: 5, Handling: 0
I bought this as an adapter for an older monitor, though I'm not sure if the adapter is causing the problem or it's the fact I'm connecting it to a DVI->HDMI cable. When I use just the DVI->HDMI cable, NVIDIA Control Panel shows the display as HDCP compatible. After adding this adapter it shows the display as not HDCP compatible. My graphics card only has 1 HDMI port, which I use for my Samsung Odyssey WMR headset, hence why I bought this adapter so I could utilize one of the 3 display ports on the card. This adapter does not work with the Samsung Odyssey headset. Guess I'll have to try something else, since losing HDCP is a no go for me.
