I ordered this because I have really fine hair which has no body to it & I use texture spray to get volume. I also use dry shampoo on alternate days when I haven’t washed my hair. My hair was becoming really dull & I was finding the roots were greasy even on the days when I washed my hair. I didn’t even think about a build up of products until I went online to look at the possible causes of my hairs lankiness & then I discovered this amazing product. I’ve only used it once as it only arrived Thursday but wow - my hair practically squeaked when I was squeezing out excess water at the end of washing my hair, it was that clean! My hair has more life in it & felt lighter with no grease after just one wash. It definitely worked for me & this will be my new weekly hair routine to stop product build up & press reset on my hair.
I purchased this after it had received several favourable reviews on YouTube. Having locs, I was doubtful it would remove residue from my hair. However it lathers beautifully, has a pleasant fragrance and cleaned my hair of residue, without stripping my hair of it's natural oils.
I have a bad case of acne on top of my hair due to my sensitive skin and thick hairs. This shampoo helps a lot with that, been using it 3 times a week in combination with using my regular shampoo 2 times a week for the past month and a half.
It gets rid of all grease, dandruff, hair wax residue and it leaves the skin moisturised but not greasy. Definitely recommend it for anyone who might be dealing with anything similiar or just in general sensitive skin.
I have locs and was looking for something to remove mild build up. Read about this shampoo and it's amazing reviews. It lathered well, and made my hair feel incredibly soft, floppy and spongey when I first used it and my hair has never felt like that during any of my washing sessions. It was almost as if everything was stripped out which was a little scary at first, as I momentarily wondered if my locs could unravel, (they didn't) but when I dried my hair, I could still feel some hardness in some of my locs at the back, meaning that some of the buildup was still in there. It didn't get rid of all my buildup, but it did a good job nevertheless. Also it was milder than I thought it would be and didn't leave my hair feeling too straw-like. I've used it twice in 12 weeks. I was going to get some more, but noticed that the price had doubled during lockdown. I'll use it sparingly.
I have only used this once, however the results are really good and exactly as advertised. My hair was so full or residue and hard water reminants, that it wasn't actually getting clean when I washed it, but my hair is light and soft and has no residue in it at all. I believe the price is above the recomended retail price which is a shame, but still worth it if you were having same issues as I was.
I started the curly girl method during lockdown and found that using so much product in my hair was sometimes irritating my scalp. So I settled on this product to get rid of the build up every couple of weeks.
The bottle, scent (or lack thereof) and texture are all fine as you'd expect from this brand. It's actually quite nice looking on the shelf compared to some of the almost medical looking bottles of shampoo you can get at times.
It lathers well and feels like it does the job ie removes build up. However personally I find that I feel like I need to use conditioner afterwards, not just on the hair but also the scalp (I know, I know!). The first time I used it, I felt my scalp a bit tighter than usual the next day, but conditioner seems to counteract that.
Of course every person and every hair and scalp is different. I do have fairly stressed tight skin and therefore scalp at times so this should certainly have been much worse, if it were too harsh. So it is probably worth a punt to see if it works with your hair.
I am still going to use mine, at least for now, albeit it wouldn't be daily or even weekly I think.
So time will tell but for now, I think it's ok... Not blown away by it but it's not been as abrasive as I'd feared so overall it's looking good.
Used this shampoo years ago and didn't realise you could still get it.....soo glad that I found it again. My hair was beginning to look very dull having to wash it every day after going to the gym. I have used it for the past month and my hair is looking so much better...it also smells very nice. Lasts about a month if used everyday ...I have very thick long hair so may last longer if hair shorter & finer.
Have tried other clarifying shampoos due to living in a hard water area. The neutrogena was recommended on a 'going blonde at home' website. After bleaching very dark hair twice at home to get to very pale yellow blonde I needed a clarifying shampoo on hand to remove hard water residue (that can turn hair more brassy). Btw I didn't use it immediately after bleaching, I used it a week later to remove residue in preparation to re colour with light blonde. I didn't need it to remove product build up as I don't use them but if you do it's a good idea to use this the day before colouring. Other clarifying shampoo's turned my hair to straw as soon as the lather formed. This one didn't. Smells a bit strong (like old fashioned perfume) but definately removed some yellow orange that had built up that week from washing - I have to wash hair everyday. Will use this once a week from now on. Having processed hair I need a good conditioner anyway each time I shampoo plus intensive conditioner at least once a week. I did intensive conditioner 3 days in a row between bleaching and since. Hair like silk which is a miracle as it was straw after bleaching.
