Worth every penny. My 6 month old puppy has followed me from room to room for 3 months & cries whenever we're apart. An hour ago I gave him one of these. Ever since, I've been in the kitchen ALONE and the only sound I hear is gnawing of a Chewnola from the living room. There are no words for how happy I am right now.
I just wish they made two different sizes; one for small AND one for medium, instead of one size labeled "small/medium." I have a 3 month old Labradoodle and even though he will definitely grow into getting through all 3 layers, currently he cannot. I usually have to throw away the bottom layer, which stinks because they aren't exactly cheap.
But he will do a back flip for these things! As soon as he sees it he freaks out and it does keep him busy for a very long time. More busy than anything else we've tried (pig ears, hooves, antlers, pizzles, etc) So I will DEFINITELY continue to buy! .. How else am I going to catch up on my TV programs?
I will also say that the first layer can be a bit messy. The small chunks are kind of sticky and my guy has long hair so the pieces often get stuck all around his mouth. He looks like a toddler that just ate breakfast 🤣
I have spent a fortune in the Purina's Busy Bone Chewnola's. I have 2 dogs (large) and they love these things. The only problem is they want one every day. I initially purchased them as a "comfort" item as my Collie has storm phobia so I try different things to comfort her and it has helped. It is embarrassing as every time the UPS man comes to the door they behave as if they have won the lottery. Never mind the fact he may not come to OUR door, they just equate the truck as a bone delivery. They are crestfallen when he does not ring OUR doorbell and whine when he gets back in his truck and no bone delivery for them. It is drama filled experience. Sorry, I digress. They are great, I just wished they would last a little longer. Oh and don't even entertain the idea of picking up a cheap bag of rawhides from Wal-Mart to suffice. They are now rawhide snobs. Great item, wish they would last longer but how they make my duo happy.
Finally! There was no such a busy treat or toy that would last in my dogs mouth more then a min. I have a lady pit that can chew through walls with no problems and with lightning speed. I bought this product once somewhere thinking this thing has no chance and it’ll be devoured in seconds. I Can’t say she is busy for long but at least few minutes more . She could swallow a phone without chewing it. She loves these things and always gets excited when she sees it. Now I am getting it every month. ( subscribe and save) great deal .
My sheltie mix is OBSESSED with these bones. I no longer exist after giving him one of these. He's a chewer, normally it takes him 7 minutes to get through a decent sized bone. He entertains himself for hours with these! I am very, very happy with this product. I was scared I would never find something that would entertain him for this long!
She loved them but they made my Husky super sick she was throwing up and had diarrhea. I had to take her to the vet. They took x-rays of her stomach to see what was going on and the vet sent them to a specialist she said she had granules stuck in her stomach that weren’t digesting (The outside of the Chewnola). She kept throwing up little white bits and had water diarrhea . The vet gave her shots to help with the nausea tablets to take for the vomiting plus tablets for the diarrhea and probiotics. $600 and a week later she is finally feeling better. Never again will I give my sweet baby Purina anything!!!! If you love your dog save yourself the heartache don’t buy these. After she was so sick I looked online and there’s hundreds of stories of people whose dogs died. I was lucky!!!!
Our 70 lb power chewer dog ate this in under 10 min. Our 4 month old puppy didn't finish it after 30 min. but enjoyed it a little too much. Thankfully our two dogs were separated because it would have probably caused a fight between them. When my son walked past the puppy chewing this bone he started growing aggressively towards him. We turned it into a training moment by petting the puppy while he chewed the bone and then swapped it for high value treats and gave it back again so he wouldn't feel the need to food guard. This has never happened with other bones. Our older dog kept whining on the other side of the dog gate because she could see the puppy still had the bone left. As soon as she was in the room after the bone was taken away she went nuts trying to get it / find it. Obviously our dogs love these bones-- just proceed with caution!
