I really love this knife. It Has a very sharp edge and cuts cleanly. I have used it to prep vegetables for soups & stews. I wash it right after use, dry it and return it to my magnetic knife strip. The edge is thin & sharp. I took away one star because of the packaging. It is awful and a nightmare to remove. I cut thru the thick plastic shrink wrap with sharp scissors & still had to keep cutting to remove the knife. I cut my finger on the plastic while doing this and it bled for an hour.
For the price I think this is as quality as you can get. The blade comes razor sharp and looks to be quality steel. However it's only 3/4 tang and with this thin of a blade it's definitely noticeable for someone with a lot of knife experience. As long as you don't treat this knife as a work horse or beater it should last several years at least
It's a very light weight knife, but works fine. Sharp, easy to use, and the grooves help keep the food you're cutting from sticking. I bought it for my mother and it's become her go to knife. She likes how light it feels in her hand.
Great chefs knife, only complain is the weight distribution. While not terrible by any means, just not ideal by me. I prefer a heavier knife and this one is on the lighter side. Still a great knife for the price so hard to really downgrade it any further.
I find it's not very comfortable to use. I bought it because the 8-inch one from the same manufacturer I got earlier was too big for me, but it turned up that I like the 8-inch one better than this one.
My husband sharpened it up and it's better. The hollow edge design, which lacks an increase in the middle to push veg away, unfortunately has some suction action with larger, firmer vegetables. For the price it is an okay knife.
