I have a little 13# doxy. She has always been a terror with squeaky toys. She loves them to death ! In other words until she kills the squeaky! Paying $13.00 + for each toy was not an option, SO, I bought these replacement squeak's. They were a bit bigger then I thought, but I use them anyway. I did find it better to make a "pocket" out of old jean material first, then slid it into the toy you are repairing or make a completely new toy out of the same old jean material ! The "pocket" made the toy harder for her to get her sharp little teeth into the squeaky to destroy it !! I also put a "drop" of Elmer's Glue around the squeak its self. It comes out very easy, and stuck it back in where it goes. Let it dry and then put it in the pocket.
I purchased these, as Colby, my terrier mix is on track to bankrupt me with his squeaky toy habit. He can get through most squeaker toys within an hour, and can make short order of even the 'indestructible' toys within a day.
The toys appear sturdy, however once the squeaker is removed from the toy insides (quickly), the noise making component quickly removed. We tested a few and found that once he gets through the toy itself he can remove the squeaker in 23 seconds: Yes, 23 seconds. We'd consider superglue to lock the element in place, but are afraid of the toxins associated with superglue.
This is the second time we have purchased this bag of squeakers. Unfortunately, less than half of them were actually usable. Most of them had a crack (or two) in the neck so the rod part that goes in and makes it a squeaker fell out immediately. It was a waste of money! I was very disappointed at the lack of quality... you’d think they would check their product before sending it out .
These squeakers are thicker and more durable than the little round ones but my little Papillon chewed through it in minutes. My other dog, a Chi mix chewed longer but still got through it. If your dog is an aggressive chewer I'm not sure the squeaker would last more than a few minutes.
i have a 85 lb Huskey/wolf mix. She trashed the squeaker in the duck within 10 minutes. I replaced it with one of these and again, trashed it. I am going to try one more time. Don’t think it is so much the squeaker but the dog.
Our terrier goes through new squeaky toys like butter, and I had high hopes for these squeakers after reading all the reviews. She went through this as quickly as all the others. I then took one of the squeakers and wrapped it in duct tape, stuck it in a glove type pot holder, and stuffed lots of plastic grocery sacks in there around the squeaker. Then I sewed the glove shut and she still managed to destroy the squeaker in about 15 seconds. The one good thing is that I have so many squeakers we can have a new squeaky toy every day until they run out!
My little guy destroys the small squeakers so fast. I bought extra and repaired some toys and decided, though he likes small toys that some of his will hold this larger squeaker replacement. Unfortunately, they must be too loud for him because in the one toy I've put them in, he squeaks it once and then goes to something else. I have a huge bag ... anybody in the market?
Almost all of the squeakers have very thin spots, some where so thin they actually had small holes where the thin section was. They were not strong enough for my small Boston terrier who has tiny teeth.
