Pros: 3 in 1! my little guy can close the lid and stand on this to brush his teeth over the sink or grab something on the counter. You can take the lid off and place it over your toilet bowl so they can practice on the real thing.
Cons: very difficult for a little boy to urinate into the bowl itself when sitting down. Seems like a poor design and urine gets on the floor sometimes.
If you can grab one on sale for under $20 go for it, the step stool can be used well after they are done potty training.
I spent forever looking at baby potties and weighing the pros and cons. Simple vs elaborate, musical or non smell. I trusted the munchkin brand however and thought it would never lead me astray. This potty is horrible however.
The main along feature for me was that it was supposed to be odor eating, and this may be true of only the scent bar would stay in its slot. It continuously falls out and into the potty; when you open it, when you close it, when I go to put my daughter on it, and sometimes I can't even get it to stay in the slot at all. It's sooo frustrating!!!!!!
For the price I paid, I atleast expected the number 1 selling feature to work. O regret this purchase and wish I bought a fun musical one for my daughter instead. Atleast then it may have gained more interest for her.
I recommend not buying this potty and spending your money on something else. Unless you don't want it for the oderless factor, then you may not be as disappointed.
I bought this so that I could use the standalone potty to start training my toddler, then when the time came, transition to just the seat on the toilet and avoid needing to buy another "adapter" seat so my toddler could sit on the big toilet. The standalone potty worked OK - my toddler liked having his own little potty; however, when it came time to transition, I found that the design of the seat allows urine to spray onto the actual toilet seat (both on the top and bottom of the seat), and subsequently run around the edges of the toilet seat (where the seat sits on the actual toilet seat) forming a ring of urine on the toilet seat every time the toddler uses the potty. This means that EVERY time your toddler uses the potty, you have to immediately wipe the urine off the seat, and off of the toilet seat or the urine will ruin the toilet seat. Unfortunately, we missed a couple of times and now our toilet seat is stained yellow on the underside (it was a brand new toilet), and has a barely-visible yellow ring where the seat sat on the toilet seat. Needless to say, we stopped using it after a little while and bought another seat that doesn't have a gap in the front like this seat. If you only intend to use this as a standalone potty, it works well. If you intend to use this on an actual toilet, save your money and get a different product!
The footprint of the potty is huge but the actual potty area is tiny. I have a small two year old and he will outgrow this quickly. It’s awkward how huge it is, only to open it up to this tiny potty with a splash guard that’s basically pointless.
I wanted the dual step stool/potty for our bathroom and this looked like a good choice, but it's become an expensive step stool.
The potty is not good for little boys because the pee-guard is not high enough. Our son sits on the potty, but pees all over the floor. I also couldn't get the air freshener in it's spot and threw it away, but that wasn't too important to me.
I purchased this for my almost 2 year old who was starting to show signs of wanting to go potty in a specific spot...we didn't push it but just left it available. She decided to try it today after a bath and she couldn't get on it alone! So she walked away and pooped on the floor.
I would have given it five stars if it were not for the fact that the Munchkin Arm & Hammer Nursery freshener don't fit properly on the freshener pocket. It is constantly falling inside the toilet seat.
