Great in that it combines a stepping stool. The baking soda pack thingy i had to throw away because it was so perfumy it gave everyone in the household a headache. My toddler has a really hard time sitting on this one and the lid does not offer good back support. She mostly spends her time dismantling all the pieces as a puzzle and has snapped her fingers in a closing/dropping lid multiple times. Maybe she's too yound for it but she has a different brand potty in our other washroom that doesn't cause us any of these problems.
It is sturdy and the air freshener is a wonderful touch. However, I'm not happy with the "little boy cup". It is very short and accidental urine over the top of the cup and onto the floor is very likely.
We are still in the process of potty training but will likely buy another seat. The seat has a little pee-blocker to keep your boy from spraying out of the seat but it seems too close to his body, not high enough, and kind of poorly placed. He has scratched himself on it a few times. When it closes it is a very sturdy step stool though.
I like the concept of this as potty chair plus step stool and seat going to the actual toilet, however the seat doesn't fit on my one toilet which has the elongated bowl. Also I have a boy and the potty seat hole is a bit too small for him, so either his front or back end is ON the seat instead of over the hole. Eeek! that leaves us only using it for "going #1" or really just uses as a step stool to climb things 😬
So far we have only used this as a potty seat and the major pitfall with this particular use is that the top doesn't stay open. The top falls down all the time--when toddler is backing up and trying to sit, when toddler is on the potty, or when we try to leave it open so toddler can quickly get to potty. I wish the top was detachable for this stage or was better able to stay open. It drives us crazy sometimes, especially when we're trying to make it to the potty without accident. Otherwise this is pretty good and glad it can grow with our toddler.
Everything looks good and well made. However, for baby boy, the front guard is low and maybe dangerous. Tried to train a 8 months boy but the front guard didn’t work as how it designed to work. Too low and almost cut the little one. Be careful if your little boy move a lot and when you pull him up.
So, my son absolute loves this potty because it turns into a stepstool AND has a lid. He thinks he’s using a big potty so that’s great!. But, if any of you have kids with big birds this potty is going to be a little bit of a challenge and that’s why I give it 3 stars. The opening where they sit is not big enough!
We have a tall 2 1/2 year old, I don't know if that is why the splash guard doesn't keep pee from splashing on the floor but it is definitely not as effective as his frog potty chair. He has to sit way far back on the chair or scrunch way up front and squish his legs together to keep the floor dry. We love everything else about the chair. The step stool lid is great, it has a solid base when he stands on it to wash his hands and he can easily climb on and off. It just needs a higher splash guard.
