I would recommend this product. Details to follow.
I have purchased Mia's Secret monomer time and time again. I am no nail professional. I have no formal training and got everything I know from youtube. That being said, I only put acrylic nails on myself and my roommate. Disclaimer, I have ONLY used this product with Mia's Secret Clear Acrylic Powder, so I cannot speak of its performance with other powders, but this is a great product when used as directed. The only issue for me is the strong chemical smell, but I will not take off any stars because if I were to do it in a better ventilated area, it probably wouldn't be an issue.
The smell of this stuff is toxic as hell! I have now tried the odorless monomer and though the smell is by far an improvement (and recommended for beginners, so you can take your time), this monomer dries faster and is less of a mess and hasel than the odorless monomer. I don't need to cure my nails before filing using this, but I do with the odorless.
So it's really about what you have the time and patience for. I've read that mixing the two helps the with the drying time but I'm curious what level of intensity I'll be dealing with in terms of the smell.
Every nail tech I adore has used or recommended this monomer along with other ones. Be warned it is definitely 10x stronger than in nail salons because they have a ventilation system. I didn’t even open it and it was in my room . I could still smell it. It traveled to our vents that were only for heating and the smell lasted for a few days . Of course that’s because I didn’t have the proper ventilation system but this is just something beginners might not have really thought about. I would say to maybe open your windows or use it outside in your balcony or backyard in the meantime or if you live with other people. As far as the use of it, it was really good! Made my acrylic powders look smooth and I will say that after it is hardened you don’t even smell the monomer on your nail!
KEEP in mind this isn't an odorless or soft odor product this is the real deal I've been purchasing this liquid for quite some time but no matter if I try to mask the smell it's still strong I love it dry quickly but be VERY MINDFUL as a beginner you really can't do this in your house like that.
I like this liquid it doesn't leave my bristles messy and it goes well with every acrylic that I have. The only problem I have is that smell is so strong. I have to leave my window open at night but it gives me very bad headaches the next morning it makes me very nauseous. The smell lingers for at least a day. I haven't looked but hopefully there is something that's more odor less
It’s okay. Takes a long time to cure which is generally a good thing for beginners. But the smell is absolutely ridiculous. It made my whole two-story house stink even though I did my nails in a room with the window open.
It served the purpose especially for a beginner. Just removing a star because the fumes are pretty intense. I think it took about a week to rid my house of the strong chemical odor. Make sure you open a window or are in a super ventilated area... outside is probably best if you live with children, pets or anyone just out of respect.
