These shoes are tough and comfortable. I stand and walk on a concrete floor for 10-15 hours a day and these are the only shoes that have eliminated my sore and tired feet issue. After a full day of work I can easily walk for miles with no fatigue.
Update: I can no longer recommend these Keen Flints. They have cut into my ankles and made me BLEED. In just three months the inside of the left shoe has worn through the inner heel lining, exposing sharp plastic pieces, which slowly sliced into my ankle while I had to work a 14 hour shift (which my job requires constant walking). By the end of the day I was bleeding and in agony. It still has a good scab where it is trying to heal, and still painful, even 12 days later. Also the outside of the right shoe is falling apat. Again, this is in just 3 months. I want a refund.
Great summer shoe for my husband. He needs steel toe and overall quality shoe. He delivers freight in an 18 wheeler. Sometimes he needs a wide and these were better in a wide, but he said he probably could have dealt with regular. This was his first shoe of this brand or style and he will definitely be getting another pair. He is VERY rough on shoes and I would say these held up a bit better than most. For example, he can wear out a pair of $200 Red Wing boots to the point that they can’t be worn in 10 months (meaning they aren’t just beat up, they literally can’t be worn)
I really wanted to like these shoes. I have been wearing them one or two days a week for at least 6 months now and they still don't feel broken in. Not really uncomfortable but definitely not that comfortable either. I am on a variety of surfaces throughout the day and if I have to spend more than a hour at a time on a hard surface I am wishing for a more cushy mid-sole. These are very stiff and firm. I am 50 years old and after the first time jumping off the tailgate with these shoes it was easy to remember not to do that any more. Upper seems well made and sole is aggressive enough to give decent traction on wet grass, however the sole is not wearing well and is not going to last anywhere near as long as the upper. I am not going to bother getting them resoled since the mid-sole is all ready too stiff. Bottom line is I would not recommend these for my purposes. Carhart makes a great shoe in this same price range If you can use a composite toe rather than steel.
These are by far the best work shoe I have ever worn. They are extremely comfortable. They stand up to significant daily abuse. Other work boots have lasted me 3-7 months before losing their tread, insole cushion, or laces/lace eyes. These will last me nearly a year of daily use. The only reason I replaced my last pair is because my job paid for new ones, But I kept the old ones as well, because they are still in great shape. I feel so comfortable in them I don't feel the need to change into sneakers as soon as I get off the clock. I've tried many different brands of work shoes over the years, but after finding these, I will stick with keen.
pretty comfy once broken in. For me break in period was about a month for them to get really comfy. Three stars because sole started to come unglued like many reviews have stated. Used a little super glue and they are good to go. Can't complain if I get a year out of work shoes as I am a mechanic and really hard on shoes. After a year the heel support has begun to crumble. Bottom line if you need shoes for a year and have some super glue give them a shot.
These shoes are extremely durable, well built, and provide good protection with the reinforced toe. I would recommend them to just about anyone. I have 2 problems with them though, which may be a big concern to certain people.
1. They don't offer the best moisture protection. They aren't weather tight and if you are working in muddy or wet conditions, they will leak a bit.
2. They don't offer good padding for your feet. I expeerienced a lot of foot pain while working in these shoes because they have non-cushy surfaces that grate against your feet and wear down the fat padding protecting your feet. They ought to have a more supportive insole and padding around the body of the shoe.
I don't blame the shoes for the trouble I'm having with my feet right now, but for shoes that are to be worn every day by hard working people in their feet all day everyday, they should have way more support so that they can help people to prevent foot wear.
Just beware if you experience foot pain that you may need to get softer insoles or choose another shoe.
Before I've bought these shoes I tought that Timberland Workman steel toe shoe was the most comfortable I had. Since I started suffering from osteoarthritis in the big toe on my left foot, I had to ditch Timberlands due to pain in the toe area ( end of the steel cap pressing too much against top of my toe) . Since other reviewers hailed Teen shoes as been designed as quite wide and roomy in the toe area, I've decided to go for these and let me tell you - perfect score. They are thus far the lightest and the most comfortable work shoes I had privilege to wear. They look great and they ooze quality through out. Time will tell how long they will last. Since I am commercial electrician and during a day walk a lot, up and down the ladder, carparks, staircases etc. I'll be happy if they last a year, since I get annual allowance for the work shoes. Definitely recommend these shoes.
I've had these for over a year and they're still in good condition and still my go-to shoes.
Got these for hot factory work where I'm on my feet all day and where steel toes are required. I went with these because they have a solidly built leather upper and are also breathable. I couldn't be happier. They're my most comfortable pair of shoes, even with the steel toes. I wear them at work, hiking and everyday situations. At work I'm on my feet for 10 hours in a hot metal building, yet my feet are never uncomfortable or hot and I never rush to take them off when I get home.
These don't have high arches, which is normal for work shoes and great for me, because I find high arch shoes uncomfortable.
For sizing, I went to a shoe store and tried on other shoes from Keen. I'm usually an 11. I tried on some 11s and it was perfect. Later, I ordered these from Amazon. I'm happy to say the sizing is consistent across the Keen brand.
I ordered size 13 wide after my timberland pro 12 wide soles wore out and felt terrible on my pinky toes. These fit great and are more breathable. They aren’t that heavy and I like that they are low top. They feel good around the sole of the foot and leave my feet feeling decent after 12 hours. However. The break in of the shoe will dig into your foot a little until they loosen up. Probably needs some heat as soon as you get them and walk around in them. Took mine about 36 hours of walking break in time.
