So I bought these because I asked a few questions and everyone seemed to like them, but when I assembled I noticed at the base and the top plate don’t run parallel, they’re slightly offset. The good thing is my speakers are big enough to cover this so when they sit on the stands, you can’t see how it doesn’t align. However, if I had smaller speakers I would be returning these 100%. It is sturdy enough to hold my speakers and they look OK, but in terms of quality, you get what you pay for, and these aren’t that expensive.
Material they use feel solid. But the screw holes are totally misssd aligned. The base plate and upper plate does not align properly. Didn’t expect such a Low class manufacturing defects on such quality product.
Speaker stands are wildly overpriced. These could be sold for $25 if they were for something non tech. You can easily make something for under $20 that will be much nicer. I discarded the spike feet for the base that will not work well on hardwood but had to use felt pads to life the base enough to clear the assembly hardware underneath and allow cord space. Assesmbly is simply, quality is poor. One of my two stands is not welded together straight at all. Theres no way for me to align the upper plate with the lower plate, which bugs me. The top plates for the speaker would up being slightly wider than the Klipsch R 41M theyre holding up. Overall, poor QA by the company, the carbon fiber cover on the base is not attractive and even as some of the cheapest units on amazon, theyre not worth this much. Hopefully others get a straight set. They do what they need to. Ill 3d print a new speaker base that is narrower than the speaker so it doesnt stick out and make them better
I need some speaker stands for my rear Energy Rc10s (14lbs each) but didn't want to spend $130-150 for another set of Sanus Steel Foundations which my front Energy LCRs sit in.
I decided to give these a shot. They came well packaged and seemed decent when unpacking but things devolved from them.
1. The way the base bolts into the pedistool doesn't make much sense. The packing includes carpet spikes however if using on tile or hardwood without the spikes the bolts sit off the bottom 1/8 of an inch therefore the base won't sit flat on the floor. I tried some felt furniture pads in the corners to raise it higher than the bolts but it's wobbly as hell.
2. The top flat metal piece the speaker fits on can be moved into 3 different positions depending on where the stand is. Once you find the position you tighten a single screw into the whole to hold its position. This again causes issues the the top platform wobbles as well making one use the doubled sided 3m strips or Velcro.
Stable enough for small/light bookshelf or satellite speakers and look fine for a secondary bedroom or den. But a few major design flaws: the way the bottom plate attaches to the steel pole prevents the base from sitting flush on the floor without the included cheap plastic carpet spikes, meaning the stands won't sit nicely on solid flooring like wood or tile; the rubber gaskets provided prevent holes from lining up, rendering the vibration isolation value of the gaskets worthless; top and bottom plates bend easily and don't provide options for different types of speaker anchor bolts.
