Very disappointing especially for the money. Allows tea through unless really course tea with flowers etc which in that case doesn’t allow flavour to percolate through. Difficult to clean properly as well. Cheaper product would do just as well and might even fair better!
The shape of this product is perfect. I had one previously which instead of rotating to close, it slid back and forward and left a gap for large chunks of tea to leak into the rest of the cup. This however shuts close very tightly ensuring no chunks of tea get left in the cup when you go to drink it. The holes seem to be optimum size to allow the tea to steep whilst again preventing chunks of tea being left in your cup at the end. The material is good with no signs of wear or rust after 9 months of constant use, and is reasonably easy to clean being stainless steel. Overall a very good product, I would highly reccommend.
Had so many tea balls before all ended up in bin for many reasons, finally found a good quality one works great, doesn't leave any aftertaste and is easy to clean and maintain. It will not open by itself inside your cup and as for tea leaves disposal, just twist the handle over a bin and shake the leaves out, clean and easy, same for grabbing the leaves from jar, no need to touch the leaves with your hands at all. Just use it as a spoon to take as many leaves as you need from the jar and close the ball. Some dust will fall through the holes of course so its not very good for fine grind coffee and its a bit expensive, but i like the design and its well made so i guess its worth the price
The tea ball is well-made and is good for certain larger-leafed teas, but it simply does not have the required space for good green teas to expand properly and release all their flavour. Also the holes are quite large and a lot of tea "dust" will get through. Get a basket-type filter instead.
I've been looking for an infuser which allows me to empty all the leaves inside it after use without touching the mesh/ball, and this one does the job perfectly. You can just twist the knob at the top of the handle, and the ball will opens into 2 halves. You then can chuck the content into the bin straight away (a few shakes might help). However it is rather pricey comparing to other solutions on the market.
This is such a great little item. I love it, so much better than other tea infusers I bought (even the Whittard and Ikea ones!) A lot of the reviews comment on how there's so many little tea leaf particles floating around after infusing - I honestly don't mind that at all and will probably purchase another one for work!
