I can't - for the life of me - see how this sock has no many positive reviews - not at this price point anyway! Fake reviews maybe? - or perhaps everyone has been indoctrinated into some form of propaganda cult of progressive positivity!
First thing that rang slight alarm bells for me - when I received them - was the Coolmax brand. For me - Coolmax socks generally belong in the Lidl/ Aldi sportswear bins at much lower prices- not marketed and sold for this sort of money. Coolmax was not stated in the description. Mistakenly - I tried them anyway; 1/ Far too short - not far off a 'no-show' sock - gaps around the ankles allow entry from the trail. 2/ Have an all overall coarse 'knitted feel to them, and do not feel particularly cushioned in any particular areas - no 'technical' feel to them. 3/ Un-snipped long tails of threads on the inside of every toe. 4/ Difficult/ fiddly to get them on - wouldn't want to have try and put these on in the middle of a race. 5/ Generate sore 'hotspots' - particularly on the outside of big toe - also feel movement/ slip on the sole.
I thought - mistakenly - they may be a good choice for long distance/ ultra trail running with Altra running shoes - allowing better toe splay, cushioning, etc.
Costly purchase mistake at around £16 - Had to spend that again to buy another pair of the Hilly Ultra Marathon socks. Not perfect but much better than these Injinji.
Having read reviews on reviews it seemed these were the best out there to be able to hike without getting blisters! 5 miles in blisters on both feet so was advised to take them off and put traditional socks on! A waste of my money!
I wear a 10-1/2 men's shoe. I bought half a dozen pair of LARGE Injinji socks and loved them at first. I use them for running and they keep my toes separate and eliminate blistering. Great socks except that the shrink massively. I NEVER put them in the dryer but due to heavy sweating I wash them in hot water. The first batch I purchased shrunk so much that I gave them all to my wife. I then repurchased a bunch in the EXTRA-LARGE size. These have also shrunk to the point that I can no longer wear them. Sweaty socks need to be washed in hot water. Sorry, I'm not going to run a cold load of laundry just for a few pair of socks. So I've probably purchased a dozen pair of these and now my wife has them all.
I wanted so much to like these socks, but there is a huge flaw that can't be ignored. There is a seam on the little toe that causes a blister on my foot every time I run in these socks. It's too bad, since I was hoping to prevent the blisters that sometimes happen when my toes rub together. Instead, I get a blister in a completely unrelated place.
