This is the second pair of tights I have had to buy my little one for ballet class. (The instructor requires the girls to have footless tights). The first pair of tights were made by Capezio, but I found them to be too tight and hard to put on my daughter. My daughter is about to turn 5 and is about 44" tall and 41 pounds. I bought pink in size 4-6 years and they fit perfectly with a little room to grow. I like these so much that I am going to buy some in other colors for general everyday wear. I also like that they are not too shear which will make them somewhat warmer for winter wear. Price is reasonable too.
Age advertised is 4-6. My daughter is 3.5, average in height, maybe a bit bigger than average in weight. The tights fit fine, but it is good we ordered larger. They fit the way Carters clothes fit...fine as long as you buy for two to three years older than your kid actually is. As for quality, they seem good. They are thin, like single ply tights, thicker than ladies panty hose, but thinner than your average cheap jegging or yoga pant material. Worked great for our Hulk costume. Expect she will wear them as everyday wear.
Nice soft pink color & soft fabric. That the way they package it with a piece of card stock inserted into one leg stretches the leg out so that the tights start off uneven (one leg & cuff is wider than the other). I was having a hard time finding ballet tights that would fit my daughter who is about 36" & 28 lbs. They were all too wide in the feet, so I tried the footless option and they have worked well to solve the problem. They look fine after 3 washes in a lingerie bag & hung to air dry.
Very happy with these. My daughter cannot stand footed tights so we've been through quite a few footless tights. These are thick for tights but not as thick as leggings. They are sturdy enough that she doesn't wear a hole in them in the first week and warm enough so she can wear her dresses in cooler weather or under other pants for warmth. We bought two colors.
Cute and do the job, however they run way short, in fact I had to come check that they weren't capri length! My daughter is almost 4 and very small for her age, the size 4/6 still barely come to her ankle, still work great with boots and will prob be fine as capris under dresses in the summer. EDIT: as she wore these with boots at first I failed to notice that one leg is obviously shorter than the other! Now they can really only be worn with boots, would not purchase again.
These leggings are just as I suspected. Ivory color is good. Sizing is a little smaller than I would like, and they are not your typical cotton legging. they are like nylons. I gathered that this would be the case so I was not super disappointed but I do not believe I would buy again.
My daughter has worn these to her dance class once a week for about five weeks and there are no runs or holes. I wash them with the rest of our clothes - no hand washing or gentle cycle, so I'm please with how they've held up so far. The footless feature is nice because cramming tights on a four-year-old is a miserable task and this makes it much easier.
These stand up to the wear and tear of a child, especially ones that want to keep their ballet stuff on, all day! I don't know how, but they don't run, pull or rip. I've had the same pair for my 6 year old for 2 years, and now this pair for my 3 year old (who is especially hard on clothing!) they are tough, comfortable, look great, affordable..get them.
Terrible waste of money :(. I bought these for my eight year old to wear on Valentine's Day and she had them on for all of 25 minutes--long enough to eat breakfast and brush her teeth, with no crazy rough-housing in between--and suddenly she yells "Mom, look!!" in the saddest voice ever. A hole the size of a quarter appeared on the front of her thigh (in the last place where it would have snagged on anything). Needless to say she was super disappointed, as was I.
Tights are nice and soft. My daughter has eczema so I try to keep her in cotton materials. Bought these for ballet class so that she won't slip in case she refused to wear the ballet slippers. Only problem is that the leg opening flares out a bit rather than staying snug around the ankle.
