Nothing fancy but it does the trick! Big enough to fit our passports & cash and small enough to slip under jeans without adding too much bulk. I like the loops that attach to the belt, easy to attach and just the right length/size. Has a few mesh dividers inside which is kind of handy as well. I have no way to prove the RFID protection of it but it’s nice to know your passports and credit cards should be protected from easy identity theft. Much better than the other money belt options that are currently available. -> If you found this review useful please hit the ‘HELPFUL’ button! Thanks! :)
There are other good reviews for this product concerning its usefulness as a travel wallet. I bought it primarily as an inexpensive "Faraday cage" for my car key fobs to block potential relay theft attempts that are becoming more common. Putting the key fob in the travel wallet effectively weakened the key's remote entry signal to the point of being non-functional until several feet from the car. In comparison, I could lock/unlock the car from virtually anywhere in the house in normal use. This was similar performance to a fabric credit card sized RFID blocking wallet I also tested, but was too small to store more than one fob. For my purposes - storing key fobs in the house while the car is not in use - the wallet's radio-blocking capability is sufficient. Whether or not it sufficiently blocks attempts to read RFID chips in CCs and passports at near distances is uncertain. Use of an additional RFID blocking CC or PP sleeve would probably be the best solution if this is of concern.
As for the wallet itself, it's nicely made with good stitching, robust belt loops, a decent zipper, a soft-touch ripstop nylon front (zipper side) with a softer microfiber backing material for contact with the body. Inside is a mesh divided into two slim slots on one side for CCs and a large main compartment sufficient for cash and a few passports. The material should mean decent comfort and pliability next to the body, but will not be water/sweat resistant. Important papers, passports, etc., should be stored in sandwich-sized resealable storage bags to keep them dry. The belt loops are about 2.5" but likely will only work effectively up to a 2" belt width.
Fits Canadian passports very well, and the 2 additional mesh pockets are great for carrying different currencies. The cloth hooks work excellent. Unfortunately it's not waterproof, but it washes very easily
I used this for a trip to Italy - in particular to carry cash when walking around Rome. It is very comfortable even in the hot, July weather in Rome. I like the two belt colour loops it provides. It sits flat under clothing so it is very difficult to tell that you are wearing it. It is small enough that you can even wear shorts with it. I simply used it to carry things I wanted to keep concealed, however I do not think I would use it as a wallet replacement. I think I would find it awkward to whip out to pay for something, but perhaps that is simply because of how I wore it.
I bought this for a recent trip overseas. Used it to store the majority of my cash, as well as my passport and a few additional credit cards. I found that it was comfortable on the inside of my jeans (kept it right next to my front pocket, so I didn't really notice it too much). The first couple of days I found it a little stiff, but after I got used to it, it was great. I kept spending money for the day in my wallet, and the rest of my cash here. No need to worry about hotel staff stealing your cash if it's on you.
This was great to have on my trip to Italy. It was sometimes a little awkward to pull out when I needed to access something inside it, and when I sat down I could feel it in the crease between the hip and thigh, but that depended on where it was in relation to the different parts of your leg and what you were carrying inside it.
I have used it for a trip in a tropical location. It has been my preferred safety bag. For obviously safe places, I just had it in my pocket, still attached to my belt. It adds two layers of security: one can't just run away with it and there is an extra zipper before accessing the $.
For more crowded areas, I would put it inside my pants. It is not visible from the outside, and will be completely unnoticed if you keep a small wallet in your pocket.
I particularly appreciated the ability to switch between in-pants and in-pocket positions without having to remove my belt or else. It was comfortable to wear despite the heat, though after a few hours you will notice it. The balance between (un)comfort and safety was reasonable.
PS: make sure to keep a bit of cash in your regular wallet. You DO look silly when digging inside your pants in front of the cashier, and then you do expose all your valuable to people around.
This money/security pouch is exactly what I was looking for having considered numerous more expensive options. Easy to use and accessible when needed. Large enough to hold a wallet and cash without being bulking or obvious.
Perfect size to fit 5 Canadian passports. We also managed to fit in 4 credit cards and some cash. The product is simple and functional. Exactly what we needed. The little loop also came in handy as I attached it to the key hook that's inside my purse. Great product for the money.
Very nice construction and seams. Can easily hold a passport, some cash notes, drivers licence, bank cards, etc. When placed on a belt and tucked into my pants, it doesn't seem bulky or uncomfortable, and is impossible to notice. I am travelling overseas for a month, and want somewhere to hide my documents and money securely. I think this will work well.
