I loved the original version of this product before they introduced "SOFT" into the new formulation. I have fine textured hair that is already too soft. The original version was THE BEST mousse I had ever used and made my hair look and feel thick and full and had lots of body. The newer "SOFT" formulation is just not the same product anymore and I would not order it again. Bumble and Bumble should discontinue this formulation and go back to the original formulation that everyone loved. "If in ain't broke, don't fix it" is very appropriate in this case and the original formulation of this mousse was "not broke" and shouldn't have been fixed. Bumble and Bumble, if you are reading our comments on Amazon, we loved the original version before "SOFT" and would like you to begin producing and selling it again!
Because Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo is such a superior product leaving my hair full of body, bounce and luster; I purchased the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Mousse expecting the same marvelous results. I am disappointed. Although it does add some fullness and body; it also adds an unpleasant "crunch" to my hair after drying. This is a rather expensive product; which, in my opinion, is significantly trumped by L'Oreals less costly Elastic Curl Mousse.
I always used the styling lotion which I loved and is no longer available. I tried the mousse. it gives some body and lift but at the end of the day it's hard to get the brush through my hair. Not nearly as nice as the styling lotion was.
I started using Bumble and Bumble Thickening Full Form Mousse the same time that I started with the Bed Head Little Tease. After washing my hair, I add a small amount of the mousse to my damp hair. After I dry my hair, it kind of has the texture of hair that’s been sprayed with hairspray then brushed through, so it gives me a little bit of stiffness that I think works really well with the crimper, without making me look like I have huge hair. I don’t find it sticky at all, and I think it works really well with the Little Tease. I live in a humid area and this seems to keep my hair from going limp in the middle of the day too.
I am updating this rating from five stars to three because this product write a 9 out of 10 on the Think Dirty app for toxicity. Specifically, this mousse contains chemicals that are developmental and reproductive toxins. Boo!
