The product is really good and solved my seal leakage problem on my truck canopy. Having said that, I’m glad my truck only has a 6 foot box as there is no way there was 23 feet of seal as advertised! More like around 20 in reality.
Perfectly fitted my Leer cap on a Honda Ridgeline. The width was perfect and it looked to be the same configuration as the factory seal but with better adhesion than the factory caulking. It was easy to install, once the cap was off the truck and upside down on the lawn. A very thorough cleaning and prep allowed the seal to stick tight. Although the adhesive isn't a 3M, it seems strong enough to resist a tug once seated and firmly rolled down. There is enough flexibility to make the curve at the front of the cap without cutting the seal. Twenty-three feet was long enough, with about 2 feet to spare. Once the cap was back on the truck and firmly attached, a water test showed no leaks. I'm happy.
Worked great on my little canopy. Very easy to install and plenty long enough. It came with alcohol wipes to wipe the rails of the canopy and the adhesive feels very strong. Once you start to softly lay it on, it will start to grab. You can’t adjust it much once you start. Follow the instructions on cutting the corners and it will come out perfect. Thick and durable with two ribs for max protection. Closed all the gaps on my truck. There is still a tiny bit of water coming through, but nothing to worry about at all- I would store concrete bags in the truck.
Good quality. Plenty enough there to redo the cap on my F150 with a 5.5’ bed.
I applied mine very near the outside edge and used th excess to cut short strips. I used the short strips every foot or so perpendicular to the new seal being careful not to overlap. Adding the short strips added to the stability of the cap.
Overall very happy with the product and how it turned out.
Just reinstalled my LEER cap on a 2015 Tacoma bought to replace a 2010 Tacoma. I DID want to save a few bucks so I kept the cap.
Getting the OLD seal off was a bit of a chore, but with my son's help, some wood chisels and a little diligence and a good rub-down with rubbing alcohol, MOST of the seal's adhesive came off, which didn't matter because the old seal had two strips of sealant about 1 cm wide while this new one has about a 2.5 cm wide single strip so there was good overlap and coverage in places the old one missed.
Small rolled up strip of butyl rubber was almost missed as it was in the center of the roll, but read the directions, follow them, and this all goes exactly as planned.
Too a third person to help lift the cap and set it in place.
