Rock star Brady Gates is used to having women throw themselves at him, it is the main reason he decides to take a month off and go into hiding at a rented mountain cabin. Brady never expected it to be a disaster and to meet Ella who has zero interest in who he is. Both have misconceptions about one another but as they find themselves snowed in together they find themselves becoming friends and wanting to explore the attraction for each other.
Very fun read. The end was rushed a bit but overall entertaining holiday story. I liked Ella, she just says what she feels and doesn't sugarcoat. Brady is for the first time in a long time vulnerable and not hiding behind his profession and he likes it. Will check out more by this author.
Ella simply wanted to go to her cabin where it was quiet, and no distractions, so she could write her books. On the way to the cabin, she came across the man who had cut her off at the gas station. She didn't care for him or his attitude. He was cold, and walking the second time she saw him. She assumed he had wrecked, and because they were in a severe storm, she headed to her cabin which was nearest to where they were. Brady was a rock star and was used to people doing as he told them. He wanted her to drive him up to his cabin and drop him off. He never once thought of the risk to her life. She refused. Much as they disliked each other, they were stuck together to ride out the storm. This is a slow developing romance. With some humor. If you are looking for a diversion from the run of the mill romances, you might like this one.
This is a very calm romance story about 2 people being stuck together during a blizzard. It is a nice easy read. I enjoyed it. No Bad words, or detailed sex in it. For those of you who have a problem with those types of books, you will be very happy with this one... Very Clean Story! It also gives a view of what authors who self publish might go through. That was interesting as well. I do recommend this to everyone who wants a nice simple clean romance story to read.
This one was a surprise. It was a quick read and has a plausible plot, if a bit cliched. But I have to say I really enjoyed the story and the interaction of Ella and Brady.
I think it's always nice when the sparks fly for the right reasons and not because the Hero's ego is so large he thinks everyone should worship at his ROCKER image. I loved Ella and her effect the the big guy.
If you're looking for a light and wonderful cozy afternoon read you just found it. Enjoy
Ella is a self published author and in need to get some writing done she decides to go away to her cabin for some much needed uninterrupted silent time to write. What she didn't expect was to rescue a self absorbed rock star and end up snowed in with him. But he was about to suffer from hypothermia and she just couldn't leave him in the side of the road to die. If it wasn't for her friend Amanda (who can't keep a secret) she wouldn't even know he was famous. She just didn't follow celebrities or even liked his music. Once he realizes she's truly not interested in him he lets his guard down and is able to have a nice time. The friendship that grows between them is unexpected considering how it was when they met but more surprising were the feelings that came next.
Brady is very famous and he's sick and tired of finding naked women in his bed. He's frustrated with the constant interruptions while he's trying to work on his music. He's tired of living in hotel rooms and just needs to get away for some alone time. His assistant/bodyguard rents cabins and has arranged one for Brady. Leaving in disguise in the middle of the night Brady sets out for the cabin. While on the way there the storm hits and he's caught in a ditch. With clothes and shoes that aren't appropriate for walking in snow he sets out to walk back to the cabin he passed a mile back. But in the way he falls many times and his clothes are drenched and freezing. When he gets rescued by the woman he saw earlier in the day he thinks she might be following him and acts like an ass. What he finds with her while being snowed in is himself, his old self. He missed having someone around that's not blinded by his fame. He's starting to have feelings for her but she likes her anonymity and he could never drag her into his kind of lifestyle.
But when they're found out and some compromising pictures come out will they be able to get through it? What will they do? Can she get over the fame and follow her heart?
This was a truly nice book, I enjoyed it very much!
I really enjoyed this book. It's not very long and I easily read it in one sitting.
Ella went to her cabin in the woods in the beginning of November where there was TV or internet so that she could get some much needed writing completed. Being a self-published author she made a decent living but wasn't well known. She liked it that way though because while she had some dedicated followers no one really knew who she was since she wrote under an assumed name so only the people in her small town really knew her.
Brady on the other hand is famous "rock star" He is constantly hounded by the paparazzi and often finds strange women in his bed that had finagled there way there through money or sexual favors. Brady is tired of living in hotels and just wants to get away for a while so that he can work on his new album. When his bodyguard has the idea to rent one of his cousins cabin in the woods for the month he's all for it. Needless to say, things didn't go as planned.
I didn't like Brady at first because he seemed so stuck on himself but Ella often put him in his place and since she wasn't a crazed fan that was after him he soon realized what a jerk he was being and settled down. They were able to become friends and with no TV or internet they talked a lot and got to know each while snow bound together in between each of them working in separate rooms to give each other privacy. I enjoyed the way that they got along and especially the way that Ella knocked Brady down off of his high horse. LOL!
I had a good time reading this book. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the "meeting and falling in love with a rock star" fantasy is always entertaining. The only thing keeping my review from 5 stars (because I did really like this book and recommend it) was that the ending felt sped up compared to the pacing of the rest of the story. However, I enjoyed the ending so it's hard to complain, ha!
This was a good short story about Ella & Brady. They both was trying to get away for some peace & quiet to write in their respected fields. Ella saves Brady in a snow storm and they end up sharing a cabin. Don't want to give anymore of the story away so pick up the book and enjoy a couple of hours of reading a good book. I did.
A fast moving romantic story that I think many will enjoy reading. the author keeps thinks moving with believable happenings to keep you interested I think you will, like me, look forward to other books by this writer too.
