I think quantum mechanics dictates that if you walk into a wall every second for 15 billion years you will emerge on the other side. Maybe if you throw these strings at a wall and have them emerge on the other side, but also have the particles that were trying to go through the wall stay in place. Then repeat the process with the 8 string you have. You could obtain your 16 string in about 30 billion years.
There are 4 strings in this set, not 16. They also kind of suck.
The 4 sets of 4 strings were exactly as advertised. I received 4 packages in cellophane wrap and I started to panic as all only showed the "E" string through the wrapper. However, I opened the cellephane wrap and discovered that the "G", "A", and "D" strings were all packaged in the their own wrap right behind the "E" string, just as advertised for a total of 16 strings in all. Perhaps the other reviewers didn't bother opening the packages?
Decent quality strings for my son who is still learning and at good price. It made both myself and his violin instructor (who has built his own violin) happy.
Update: I wrote the seller and told them they only set one set of strings and they mailed the other three to me immediately. Very responsive to their mistake. The strings are fine, but let's be clear: I've been the violin for a month and a string is a string to me. ----- Original review: They arrived today. But only had one set of strings. Not the four sets of strings as advertised. I’m hoping they will remedy this. Please?!
I was fortunate to have my fiddle worked on by a real luthier, a friend of a friend, and he did a wonderful job. One of the new strings he put on broke the first time I tried to tune it. I felt sheepish, as I hadn't broken a string like that since I was learning to play, about 45 years ago, but then I read a review of those strings, and found that this was not uncommon. I searched Amazon for different strings, and found these, which most people seemed to like, the price was amazing, and thought, "Why not?" When I put a set on the fiddle, tuned the strings with an electronic tuner with relative ease, and began to play, I was amazed. Decent sound, and these strings held tune from the start almost perfectly. I've never experienced that with brand new strings. I am a very satisfied customer. I hope the strings last. They seem to be very good for my need.
Great strings for beginners. There are better sounding strings out there but for the money, when your learning, these are great. I’m using them on a cecilio electric violin. The sound is a little bright for me but again, for the price you can’t go wrong. Seller Customer service/ response is also great. They only sent me one set originally but after one quick message they promptly corrected the error.
I got a violin years ago but never really did anything with it. I decided to finally learn a few days ago. I tried for like an hour to tune it, but to little success. I know nothing about instruments so I thought some new strings might help. I slapped on a set of these, and in 20 minutes I got everything in tune and started playing. I am not great, but I sound a lot less screechy with these strings than with whatever came on mine from the music shop. I am happy with my purchase.
These are good Violin strings, to learn with, especially early on, when your are a little tough on them. They deliver a clear and loud tone, with light bow pressure. Being Steel Core, they can be a little tinny, at times; but, they are very affordable, and will get you through, until you are ready to upgrade.
