To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Bought these to connect an IQ4 and Xbox One X over a short distance to a new 4k TV through a receiver. Had constant problems with the signal for both devices. Went back to the original (but longer) cables and no problems. Repurposed for other 1080p devices and they work well.
It's hard to write reviews for such basic items. They either work or they don't. This one does.
It arrived in the usual amazon fashion, along with 2 other small items that I'd ordered, covered in the paper towel you get in public toilets and sealed in a box big enough for 75 items of this size.
Upon removing the cable from it's packaging, noted that it is approximately the same length as the description had implied, the same color, the same thickness and had little blue usb 3 style colors and.... It's a USB cable. It's plugged into a USB slot on my computer and then a powered usb hub some 7 feet away from my computer, and thanks to its 9 feet of length, performs exactly what was needed. To get from point a to point b and allow my usb controller to plug in without having to move my computer to a less useful position.
This is a superb cable some manufacturers offer a flimsy lightweight and often low quality cables. However Amazon basics is synonymous with quality and this is no exception.
The heads of the cables are firm thick plastic with absolutely no sign of warping and are so robust that I’m sure will last the test time.
The cable itself is clad in thick rubber which was not as flexible as some models does provide extra protection and robustness. As a further benefit of the cable is very unlikely to kink due to its thickness.
Where the cable meets the head there is a very secure joy of found that some cables come loose at this point whether this model shows no sign of this likely to happen.
I replaced an older model with this new cable and I have to say there are no more dropouts on my USB external drive thanks to this cable unable to get the highest amount of data throughput.
I would say that given the price there is nothing comparable for the type of quality you have here go ahead and buy one not be disappointed
This works so well. I have an external monitor with 4 USB ports that needed to be connected to my laptop in n order to work and it works like a dream. Fast and instant connection and everything is working just how it should. I wish I had bought a shorter cable but other than that i am really pleased with the quality and the function on this cable.
Works fine to connect a hub -
Anker® 60W 7-Port USB 3.0 Data Hub with 3 PowerIQ Charging Ports for iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Motorola, HTC, and More
to my laptop. I have used all the ports at the same time and they all work perfectly and with no noticed loss of data transfer speed, I needed a longer cable to place my drives etc. was from my cluttered desk and this cable did the job.
On the strength of the reviews here I purchased this (9ft, 2.27m) to connect to an external hard drive. I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality. As others have said, this cable is quite thick, the connectors look fine and appear quite strong, I doubt they'll break anytime soon.
The most important thing though is what's the speed like? Some other USB cables on here have bad reviews because they are very slow. Using CrystalDiskMark with my ICYBox external HD the WD Green 2TB HDD shows a sequential read speed of 121.4MB/s and a write speed of 117.7MB/s. This compares very favourably with SATA 3.0 speeds for a WD Green HDD.
So I'm very happy with the speed achieved with this cable. Highly recommended. Next time I need a USB cable I'll definitely buy Amazon Basics.
I am using it to hide a 4TB hard drive away from my living room where my Xbox One sits (other AV equipment is hidden away). The length was key for this. The only thing to note is the cable is a little thicker than the free cables that normally come with USB 3.0 devices. Also, the Amazon logo sits in a little bubbled label on the A side (e.g. part that connects to the computer). This might be a concern if your computer's motherboard doesn't have loads of space but you should be able to swap cables around to make this work.
The cable will repeatedly disconnect and reconnect non-stop, it ruined my 8GB flash drive date, luckily there was some trash stuff on the flash drive so I did not lose any important data. It was tested on my Acer XB271HU monitor (Which has 4 USB 3.0 ports built-in), which worked fine with the 1 meter cable that I received in the box of the monitor, but I needed a 3 meter cable so I bought this one, but it does not work.
I am using this for my Dell S2716DG monitor which has 4 usb passthrough slots. The one provided by Dell was a little too short hence I went for a longer 3m version. It works perfectly and is a nice thick strong cable.
