I always buy my bully sticks from Best Pet Supplies because they are a great value and odor free* (*rarely, I get a stick that has a slight odor, but overall, they are odor-free). I know people are always looking for the thickets sticks, especially for those of us who have big, big dogs with strong teeth. My puppy (10 months old) is almost 80 pounds (oh no!!!), and so I really want the thickest ones. The BPS bully sticks come in so many different packs, I have now memorized the product code of the thickest ones. This one is NOT it. The size is good, but the thickest ones are PB-12-V-LB. See below for summary and photos for comparison.
For reference, if you want: -12" bully sticks that are thick, but not super thick, get the PB-12-10 (10 sticks per pack) -12" bully sticks that are THICK and truly a "gigabite", get the PB-12-V-LB (there are fewer sticks/pack, usually 6-7 per pack, but sell for $5 cheaper than the 10 pack)
Overall, they are a great value and far cheaper than buying them in the pet store. Hope this helps!
My dog is over the top obsessed with these bones, and ONLY these bones!! I have purchased similar/comparable high quality bones from both Petsmart, Petco, etc... she won’t even touch those ones. But these.. she carries them around the house and chews on them all day, everyday!! It’s important to note that she is a really picky eater... I have to mix her dog food with other goodies to get her to eat anything, and only high quality kibble. So these bones must really be good! I love that there is no odor to them, and it does take her awhile to finish off 1 entire bone. I usually take them away to pace her, but if I didn’t she’d probably go thru 1 entire bone in 1-2 days. I do agree that the thicknesses of each bone within the bag does very.. there are some that are noticeably different in size (thickness). But I’ve never noticed one to be unreasonably too thin. But also, my dog is a 10lb terrier mix so she’s smaller. I have reordered these exact bones approx 5 times now, and I will continue to do so because my dog really loves them!!
Having made the mistake of getting very smelly bully sticks in the past, I can say that these are fantastic for the price. No smell at all, and the dog loves them. They do vary in size (some are thinner, some are thicker), but that is not a problem in my book. My young lab will spend hours working on one of these, until it magically disappears. And the price is nice: I have seen places charging five bucks for one stick!
In all, this is a great value on no-smell bully sticks. ------------------------------------------------
So I ordered a pack of the THICK sticks since my lab was destroying the thin ones. The sizing of these sticks is all over the map. There were thick ones, thin ones and in between ones, in a bag that I paid up for since it was described as thick. Seriously disappointed.
Bait and Switch . I have purchased these for years . The last order is a totally different product , not even the same company name on the bag . The bully sticks smell awful . How can you sell a product different from what is pictured ? The product is made by Best Pet Supplies , INC . not Gigabite like the picture shows . They are not odor free , like the description says . Just awful .
Since the only other review currently is a horrible review, I'll leave my story to straighten out this product. Locally bullysticks can be bought for about $4 a piece for the 6 inch ones and they aren't pencil thin, but nothing special. Since these were about $2 a piece I wasn't expecting much but all of these were bigger than expected. None of that pencil thin two bite special that you get elsewhere. I have a 65lb German Shepherd and she is a very powerful chewer, and these have lasted longer than any brand I've tried. I'd say the average girth is about the size of your thumb (obviously you'll have to use your judgement here for size, I have above average sized hands). Will be ordering these more often. If you're sick of ordering bully sticks and receiving treat sized ones look no further. Also, these ones really don't smell at all. My dog has EPI (pancreatic enzymes disorder) and these are much better on her digestion than rawhide at about the same price.
My dog is quite the lover and chewer of bull pizzle and I was really hoping to find a gem of a deal with these but sadly its a little like throwing money away.
My issue is that these are definitely not thick pieces and it took my beloved fur-face all but 2 minutes to gobble up each piece up.
The pieces I received were about 1/4" thick by roughly 1/2-3/4" wide.
I use these treats to help keep my dog distracted for an hour (or three) while I am working or when I have to leave him home alone. For half this price I could have gotten a proper "thick" bully stick from AtB which would have been almost twice as long, a lot thicker and would have held up to a couple of days of chewing.
These could be fine for small dogs or puppies but they are definitely not thick and won't last very long.
They did arrive promptly and were of the odor-less variety.
The only good thing about these is that they arrived. These are the piddliest bully sticks ever! They are skinny and a waste of time for my dog to eat, no chewing involved. The name is cute but this product is not cute. I cannot believe I have been so ripped off! The first package was fabulous! The treats were big and tough and lasted two days. This time it took Vanilla about ten minutes. I do not reccomend!
Up until now the best bully sticks I'd found was "Simply Bully Sticks", however every time I went to order them they were out of stock, so I purchased these. My two Havanese dogs Love them! These bully sticks do not have an odor, they do not stain my carpet or my dogs mouth nor do they give my dogs bad breath. They have never made my dogs sick or throw up. I have ordered these three times and I have been pleased with each purchase. They have been constantly the same good quality every time. My dogs are small, 8 and 10 lbs and they manage these very well. I have purchased other bully sticks they have not liked but these are an absolute winner for them and me and my carpet!
Now...... remember what you paid for them and it's not a bad value (maybe). I bought the bag/25, and yes, I did get 25, but not 25 of Regular size Bully Sticks. From Regular to Small and even Very Small. To me Small is 1/2 inch and under. Regular is 1/2 to 3/4 inches. At least that's how most companies gauge there Bully Sticks. I know these were not that expensive so I won't return them. But I don't think I will ever buy them again. These (mostly) are way to thin for calling them "Regular Size).
My 6 month old puppy has never had an issue with any bone. He’s used Nylabones, Yal chews, Antlers and of course, Bully sticks. Because of COVID we were unable to purchase from our normal pet store so we gave these a try and it was a huge mistake. These made my puppy puke profusely any time he would chew them. The bully sticks might look like a good deal but the vet bill sure wasn’t. We’ve thrown all of ours out and will not purchase again.
