4.0 out of 5 starsEffective cleansing but at a premium price
Reviewed in Canada on 6 September 2017
My daughter was excited to try out this shampoo as her hair is very thick and dry. I am very ingredient conscious when buying products so this definitely caught my eye. After testing it out and giving it a fair chance she found it to be no more effective in cleansing compared to her regular & less expensive shampoo. Overall, I believe this is a good product with a very high price point for its effectiveness.
Pros: - paraben, sulfate and sodium chloride free - color and keratin treatment safe - provides UV protection for hair - vegan, Cruelty free, and gluten free - attractive packaging - left my hair feeling very clean
Cons: - high price point for the amount of product received - not significantly more effective than other products much less expensive
Design / Functionality - 8/10 Quality / Construction - 8/10 Value - 6/10 (Price at time of review - $59.00)

4.0 out of 5 starsAppears to be a high end shampoo, with sparkling gold flecks, but I don’t notice much difference.

If you are a news anchor, professional model, or and actress, maybe you wouldn’t mind spending $50-$60 on a bottle of shampoo.
I have to admit, when you read through the list of ingredients, it seems very impressive! It contains a lot of high end oils and extracts that allegedly help nourish.
The fragrance is very nice, and the shampoo appears to sparkle with a golden glow in the shower. The bottle is very attractive, in terms of design they knocked it out of the park, it definitely appears to be a high end brand.
After using this shampoo for about 3 months, I don’t notice much of a difference in the condition of my hair.
I will not be reordering, I’ll be going with a cheaper brand of shampoo when this runs out.
4.0 out of 5 starsA richly scented (and priced!) shampoo with nice results!

I was expecting a shampoo that left my hair weighed down and kinda life-less looking to be honest but I was pleasantly surprised that this “Repair & Restore” shampoo actually left my hair feeling lightweight, fresh and clean! Most ‘restorative’ or repairing types of shampoos can be a bit heavy on my fine, straight hair but it didn’t weigh it down with heavy oils. The shampoo itself smells marvelous and I love sniffing my clean hair after using this stuff! I would say that this shampoo is best for normal to oily hair types as it may not be hydrating or nourishing enough for very damaged, dry or coarser hair types.
It lathers up into a richly scented (literally) foam and it rinses out cleanly without leaving my wet hair feeling slippery and coated. It just feels freshly washed and ready for conditioner or hydrating hair oil.
For my budget currently, I wouldn’t purchase this shampoo once I run out of this bottle but this is something that I would treat myself to once a year or just put it on my wish list. I rarely spend over $10 for a bottle of shampoo and since I have long and oily type hair, I do use more about a quarter sized amount or more to ensure a thorough cleanse.
4.0 out of 5 starsNoticeably softer hair; feels like everything is stripped away
Reviewed in Canada on 24 July 2017
I'm of two minds about this shampoo. On one hand, I really love how thick and creamy it is. I have long, fine, naturally curly hair, and I usually need a lot of shampoo to get my hair clean. With this shampoo I'm using a quarter-sized amount, about 1/3 of what I use from drug store brands. I also really love how soft and clean my hair is looking. There really is a difference, and it is noticeable.
However, I'm not happy with the stripped feeling my hair has right after I rinse out the shampoo. It feels like everything has been taken away, leftover product, oils, everything. I always follow up the shampoo with conditioner, and my hair feels fine when I get out the shower, but I'm concerned about long-term damage that may develop after months of use.
The shampoo does lather up really nicely, and it has almost no scent (which I love!). It rinses out easily, too. I'm not sure if it is repairing or restoring, but my hair does look great. Like, much better than with any shampoo I've tried in the past year. But, because of that stripped feeling, I'm going to be switching to using it twice a week rather than daily.
4.0 out of 5 starsToo expensive for the same thing...

I don't like this shampoo very much for myself. My wife really likes it though.
Pros: - lathers up very rich - washes out fantastically leaving hair feeling great - my wife likes the smell
Cons: - over sixty dollars? are you kidding me? - it smells way too strong for me
Honestly you can get what feels like as good of a shampoo from your local store. But then I have short hair and my wife's turned out quite a bit better. I still can't believe the price, neither can my wife so we won't be getting this again unless we win the lottery and even then it's a question.
4.0 out of 5 starsSignature scent. Nothing to make this stand out compared to other shampoos
Reviewed in Canada on 8 August 2017
I have short stocky hair and usually use a number 1-2 trim attachment. I tried the Gold Lust Repair and Restore Shampoo and noticed it has the same signature scent as the other ORIBE products. The shampoo lathers pretty good needing only a few squirts. After using this I noticed my hair gets drier and each strand gets separated making it stand up. This was new to me because I am used to my hair sticking to the crown after each wash and dry. Other than that I didn’t notice anything different compared to a regular shampoo. Also, the price is not really attractive either
Sooo, it took me about a year to actually purchase this product obviously because of price. I couldn’t justify spending $50 on just shampoo and then another fifty for the conditioner. I was naturally nervous because nothing was sealed not the box nor the btls. Expensive packages generally come sealed and the fact that it wasn’t didn’t leave me feeling assured.
Also the general btl was disappointing. It’s pretty just like in the picture however it’s made of plastic and the shampoo is the size of my hand so it won’t last long. Maybe three months or so if I can use it sparingly.
Also, I was so excited to smell it and I was relatively unimpressed. However the product looked okay and worked smazing on my hair. My hair is soft and shiny and already looks improved. I didn’t want to like it but my hair has never looked or felt better.
At the end of the day I’ll repurchase bc the product is what I expected as far as the contents, but I will not purchase it from Amazon. I’ll buy directly from the site. I just can’t understand why for full price my product was not BRAND NEW. It just isn’t right.
This is really nice shampoo. It basically smells like rich people lol. It washes really nicely, and leaves a very soft, light feminine scent. It leaves hair soft, smooth, and shiny. I'm very happy with it.. But I can't justify the $59 price tag for such a tiny bottle. If you're wealthy, and can afford to indulge, then hey, this is good :)
