To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Writing a mission statement is an important first step when starting a business. It is very difficult, however, to know where to begin. Reading the Topline Summary of 'Start With Why' is a very good place to get started. This summary will help you clarify your beliefs and values to define why you are in business. It will then help you refine these beliefs and values to write your own concise mission statement. I needed to write a mission statement for a business as part of a college class that I was taking. I appreciated the brief and to the point ideas presented in this book.
The author gives vivid examples and stories of the importance of knowing WHY, we or companies, are in business. He makes the case, business is NOT about products or services, but about WHY the business exists in first place! That is, what value is the company bringing to the marketplace? This parallel is true for one's personal WHY! In short, what is the company or you doing to bring value/solutions to the marketplace?
I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with either your personal WHY or you as a leader, looking for ways to inspire your organizations.
Watched Simon Sinek's video and wanted guidance to apply this to my own business without having to plough through another business book. This summary was just right - building on Simon's publicly available Start With Why TED talk in enough detail to get me started.
I appreciate a good summary that covers the key points of a book. This one does that for me. I found the subject matter insightful, and relevant. Getting to work now on implementation. A good read. Highly recommended.
I love bullet pointed versions for my Kindle to use for a refresh and then the actual hard copy - which I have read too. All makes sense - not a new concept however positioned to give the Why, What and How new life! A good reminder. Enjoyed the read.
