This one could be scary for kids 6 and under. The monsters (ghosts, zombies, demons) turn out to be real (Daphne wishes early on that she wants to catch a real ghost for once, instead of someone in a costume), so... The story isn't half bad (young kids won't follow the lore), and there is a lot of action. Overall, my son (age 4) thinks this one is great because of all the "really scary ghosts." I'd recommend it for Scooby fans who don't scare easily and want the thrill of a real monster.
I got this for my son when he was 4. He really likes Scooby Doo. The price of this DVD was good for my budget, too.
He doesn't watch this much. It is a good story, and well made. The animation is incredible. However, unlike most Scooby Doo stories where there is a person dressed up as a scary monster, this story is about true ghouls and ghosts, and people that turn into frightening looking cat creatures at the end. He has told me it is too scary for him.
I would recommend this movie for kids who are 7 years old or older. I think the themes of real ghosts, and cat monsters that truly mean to do the Scooby Doo gang harm, are too mature for younger kids. Older children may get a thrill out of it, though.
