Beautiful speaker stands, very modern looking with very nice looking glass bottom. Fits our samsung q950r soundbar rear speakers perfecly. Very happy with the quality. Super easy to assemble and love the packaging it came in. Very pleased.
Pros: Obstruction free pull through for wiring. Solid all metal speaker mount, plastic cover, allows for compact, tidy wiring. Decent collar/bushing for solid vertical telescopic adjustment. Finish is free from defects, rust & assorted drek. Comes with adhesive gel pads for hard surface floors Cons: No base counterweight. Chrome finished ring nut on base sticks out like a sore thumb.
I knew these stands were inexpensive and didn't have high expectations, but even I was surprised at the lack of quality. First, the design is just poor engineering. The poles don't screw directly into the bases; instead the bottoms of the poles are threaded and they are held into the base with a nut on top and and a nut on bottom. Furthermore, with the curved shape of the base and flat nuts, the poles are barely held in place. Any rotation from the top end can easily loosen the nuts. Also, mine was shipped with a bad pole that had damaged threads so I couldn't even use half the threading on that pole. Second, the bases come with stick-on rubber feet that just don't stick. They come right off with only a small amount of resistance. Any sliding movement along the floor is enough to take off several of the feet. Third, the adjustable plastic nuts that secure the top halves of the poles to the bottom halves are nearly completely smooth. Once even partially tightened, its difficult to untighten them to make adjustments to the total pole height. Plus the rotational movement of trying to compensate for the difficulty in untightening is again enough to loosen the nuts holding the poles to the bases.
These seem to be fairly functional; however, the joints/buckles that fit the stand together appear to be just cheap ABS plastic and will probably fail sooner than they would, had the manufacture used aluminum or steel. Also, it is extremely difficult to thread the speaker wire through the curved piece. I used a string and tape to help run the wire through. Another fault is that although it came with different sized bolt/screws to mount the speakers, it didn't come with matching nuts to thread on to the bolts, so I had to make a special trip to Lowes to find matching hardware necessary to finish mounting my speakers.
Good stands but they're a little flimsy. They look nice but my speakers don't sit level. They droop down until the speaker rests on the curved part of the post. My speakers are AudioEngine P4 which weigh only 6 lbs each. These are rated for 11 lb speakers which doesn't seem possible.
These look very nice with the glass bottoms, and they hold the speakers for our Samsung 5.1 surround system without a problem. They came with a variety of screws for different speakers, so I assume they'll fit most of them out there. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The glass is pretty heavy and so makes them quite sturdy, I don't have to worry about these falling over.
