National thumb and finger picks are a premium product. They are the benchmark for professional quality finger picks. I have previously tried other brands which were a lot cheaper and could not get on with them due to poor tone, fit, playability etc. I therefore took the plunge and paid a little extra for some steel National picks to use with my resonator and other guitars. After a few hours of experimentation with fit and unfamiliarity, everything clicked into place and the improvement to the quality of sound I was now producing was transformative and the playing experience a delight. I can't recommend these picks strongly enough. Yes, you will pay a FEW pounds more for a set than a set from their competitors. BUT the quality is a vast improvement and once tried, I think you will, like me, be a confirmed used and settle for nothing less. Totally recommended.
Just starting out playing the banjo so can't really give a professional opinion One thing I can say is the thumb pick is just the right length and fits well, the finger ones are a little tough on the fingers and made one of my fingers sore at first but was ok once I got used to it
I use a heat gun to get the custom fit I like on the thumb picks, but they are pretty flexible and do the trick as is for most, I just like to make a little adjustment.. the finger picks are flexible enough to form for your preferred fit, yet stiff enough to hold the shape once adjusted... I also like the brass NP2-B finger picks, a personal preference, but not an option with this set, and I like having both...
Great metal finger picks. As described and what you would expect. The thumb pick is a little long for my playing style and is quite stiff. But overall, worth the money for anyone interested in metal finger picks.
