To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought this because of the pictures people posted and was so excited. Well, I have tried numerous times to use it and I only get 2 crimps, then it doesn't work. I then started teasing my hair and applying this ans that works. I would say not to waste your money :(
Edited to remove a star. I shouldn't have to turn this thing off between every section of my roots. I am using the product exactly as indicated and having the same problem that all of the other 1-star reviewers had. I don't understand why the low reviews are buried. Buy the Conair version instead. --- I like this thing in theory. I turn it on to the highest setting and it heats up fairly quickly. However, it doesn't stay hot. The temperature then cools down to a lukewarm state after about 3 minutes of use... so cool that I can touch the plates with my bare hands and push down and not feel at risk of a burn. If I turn the unit off and then back on again, it heats back up and crimps wonderfully... until the temperature cools down again. I should have gone for the Clairol model that was a little bit more expensive. I have a ton of hair and need more than 3 minutes to get all of my roots.
Maybe I am getting a defective one, but my crimper doesn't heat up. It cooled down after I crimped 2 or 3 thin sections; I had to turn it back and one several times to heat it up. It took too long to crimp the whole head (and my hair is really thin). Very disappointed with this product. I would never used it again.
