To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Bought this thinking the smell would be like other American Crew shampoo that I have used at the barbers. Unfortunately not - this was has a unpleasant medicinal smell to it. Definitely not one that I will using again.
I've never had an issue with an American Crew hair product before, including their 3-in-1 shampoo. However, this product left my hair terribly dry and made my scalp itch for days afterwards. Obviously this isn't going to be everyone's experience, as everyone has different needs, sensitivity and preferences. I can at least say that this product smells good.
I'm giving it two stars vs one because it does have a nice scent. However, it doesn't perform its basic function very well. On first wash, it just doesn't lather up; and it doesn't matter how much I use. On second wash, it lathers up great. But I'm using twice as much shampoo as usual.
This is my first time using American crew men’s daily shampoo, but I am finding it extremely low sudsing, to the point that I need to shampoo twice in order to feel like my hair is getting cleaned. There are other reviews saying similar things, I’m not sure if we all just got a bad batch or if the product has actually changed when compared to what other more positive review were‘s have been seeing.
This is not, as others have recently stated, the same American Crew. Doesn't lather, have to use twice as much, definitely a different product. Mine was sold by Amazon and nit a third party, and I'm beyond my return window. For the cost compared to garden variety shampoos with no additional benefits, it sure seems like a terrible value to me at $12. Again, I am not knowledgeable as to whether this is a redesigned product (American Crew's fault) or an illegal knockoff (seller's, in this case Amazon's, fault).
