No me gusto por que la protección es mínima, la protección de la oreja no es rígida, es totalmente flexible y durante el trabajo de piso las orejas igual se lastiman. Pensaba que la protección era plástica como en cualquier protector de orejas de otras marcas.
I bought this while I was nursing cauliflower ear from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and wanted something that would not be hard on my partners' heads. It does not have rigid ear guards; these guards will compress into your ear with a decent amount of pressure. Essentially, they prevent your ears from getting folded. It is comfortable but does move around; I wish the chin strap could be tightened more as it ran out of velcro. 2 stars is because I nearly ripped my sparring partner's arm off when I did not hear his verbal tap the first couple times he said it until he had to scream loudly. This was very scary for both of us and I ended up feeling very embarrassed but he understood. I do not know why they would not have ventilation/hearing holes over the ears so you can hear and get some air in there to cool you off. I would recommend another product with rigid ears guards that allows you to hear anything other than loud screams of pain.
For me, this product is inferior in every way to my hard headgear made by a competitor. I use my hard headgear for BJJ and wrestling, but my judo sensei only allows soft headgear. My biggest complaint is that the ear cups are compressible, so they really offer little protection for my ears. The headgear stays in place, but it makes it hard to hear the instructor and it is very hot. Also, the chin strap is too long, and it damages the material to tighten it more. I have had it for more than a year, but I haven't used it very much because it is so unpleasant to wear. I will be trying out a different brand, because this one is intolerable.
The design of this ear guard has some nice features that I wish other ear guards would learn from, however, some significant draw backs are also present and I would not recommend this over other well-tested ear guards (e.g., Matman ultra soft, which is also half the price).
Improvements needed: - Because there is no holes on the ear-cups, it is really hard to hear anything during training. Most other ear guards have some kind of air-hole design to help with hearing. - The ear-cup is actually not hard enough near the center, so any impact that is right at the center of the ear cups could still exert pressure on your ears. - The strap on the bottom is really long, and it actually becomes problematic when it get caught during a scramble and comes loose.
Good design that is better than other ear guards: - The silicon strips for the forehead helps keep the ear guard in place - Only 2 straps make this easy to adjust, and the single-big strap being at the back of the head is a good design.
