To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I’m not a novice and have experience of restringing my instruments for years. 5th string snapped whilst tuning and I was still just under an octave below the correct tuning. Must be a flaw in the materials. Not very happy especially as these are medium and should not be as easy to snap.
I am a long term musician but new to bluegrass banjo. Recently I changed head and strings, trying D'Addario medium set; and I have to say they sound dull, are very hard to play making almost impossible to play reasonably fast. Now I ordered Martin Vega light gauge set, not installed yet to compare both of them. But they were the brand my banjo came with, and they sound really great.
My banjo strings arrived in the mail yesterday, and three of them ALREADY broke. I'm so disappointed, I only wanted to replace one string but figured I should do them all since it was a full set right? Now I'm stringless thanks to this garbage.
D tuning on my banjo the tied end of the string came undone after a few minutes. Restrung it, got 12 hours max before it snapped again, I restrung it a total of 4 times until it became to short to try again.
