Not happy with this because of suspected change in formula. Prior lotion was so thick is viscosity, a little portion went a long way. Plus, it left a nice sheen on my skin. The bottle I received recently, felt like cheap lotion. No sheen and skin doesnt feel hydrated. Since this product is under the shea moisture brand, I imagine they've "sold out" the customer once again.
If you want to smell like the grandmother you never liked, maybe you will like this. It does not smell like patchouli, it does have an insipid rose-ish smell that even in tiny doses is overpowering. I put a teaspoonful or less on my hands and had to wash them three times to get the smell off. If you were sitting next to me in a public place with this on I'd be hightailing it to get away from you. Sure it may be moisturizing but then again so is a vat of rancid lard.
Arrived as promised, fast shipping. love the scent. It's exotic and heady, earthy and sensual and the patchouli is so well balanced with the buriti. Makes me feel like a natural woman, for sure. Do know that this is a thick, heavy lotion. It's great for dry skin, especially in Wintertime. It's Summertime right now so, if I want a thinner consistency I add a little jojoba oil. I got the body butter locally, fell in love with the scent so ordered the lotion on Amazon. Honestly, I like both equally. I find the scent in the body butter to be a truer scent and longer lasting. Happy customer here!
Ahhh my favorite Nubian Heritage product. My husband and I love this as well as the other patchouli and buriti products and have picked this fragrance and formula as our favorite since it first became available. A non-greasy lotion that absorbs and works great to keep skin healthy and hydrated with a natural, clean and refreshing fragrance that could work for anyone and that fades to super light in minutes. At first we found it a little strong but since it quickly fades, that doesn't matter. Also, it doesn't smell much like patchouli with the combination of buriti, a floral frangrance, which gives it that balance between earthy and floral which for us is just right.
I bought this years ago and it was so thick I could only get out of bottle with great difficulty, using a chop stick to reem it out. Loved it when I could use it but it would have be much better in a jar. I tried thinning it down with essential oils and rose water but still....last3 me about 4 years so far. Came to see if there was one in a jar and disappointed to see someone comment recently that it’s totally different and inferior now.
