I really enjoyed this set of books, which I have nearly finished reading at the moment. I was pleased that they are not one of those impossibly sexy set of books that I sometimes get, where they seem to be all about sex and don't have much story. I am not against sex but sometimes they are a bit much and I don't enjoy reading them and at times give up on them and choose something else instead.
Some couples were more thick headed than others, but the results were pleasant. Some stories were easier to read or more involved than others. Good. PS I was disappointed that I didn’t realize that I had purchased Holiday Brides which contain the first four stories of this series. It seems strange to me that she would just tack this onto the end of a previous series and rename it rather than leave it single until she created more stories of the same nature and create Holiday Bride series (5-?). It’s the principal of the thing!
I enjoyed all but #5. All needed a bit of improvement understanding the industry or locale they were set in, For example, no way does a ski instructor take a beginner skier on a ski lift before teaching snowplow and even after that it is very gentle hill. #5 lost me cause I detested her and never got her underlying reasoning. He was a total whimp through most of it. Just both of them needed a whole lot more basis. For quick reads, a good set.
The stories were okay. There were some editing issues. I think I liked the story of Matt and Sarah the least. I also didn't care a lot for the one that had inherited her aunt's farm and money that had to get married first and have a baby. It was borderline fairytale. The first stories had a few swear words.
This is a holiday of five love stories. The first - "The Christmas Catch" - the love story of Christiane and John, the second - "Holiday Bride" - the love story of Lucy and William, the third - "Mistletoe in Yaine" -the love story of Carol and Paul, the fourth - " Beach Blanket Santa" - the love story of Matt and Sarah, the last - "Baby, Be Mine" - the love story of Nikki and Jack. Okay story of love found and gain, memory lost, old friends and true love.
I have read all of these books individually or in a collection. I do enjoy Ms Baird's stories very much. I try to double check on collections to make sure I don't already have them as individual books. I was so glad to see a Ginny Baird book I forgot to look. Since I have so many other Christmas books to read I'm not rereading these. But they are worth rereading.
