To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Fit is comfortable, however after 2 hours of use the synthetic leather in the palm is starting to tear, a small chunk is already gone. Considering the price, this is really bad.
edit: Added back one star as it seems to be a defect and I should have returned them had I noticed, but it seems to support the small hole without ripping, which is great is it likley means that under normal circumstances it may survive actually longer.
Will update the review after I use them more to confirm/infirm
The gloves fit well and protect your knuckles. This is my second pair, my first pair I using to fell trees, the trees were wet from the night before b/c it rained. The index finger got a hole in it. I had them for year and they worked well for woodworking or DYI projects, up to that point. So I ordered a new pair the index finger got a hole in it the first day. I am disappointed that my brand new gloves got a hole in them, I wrapped the R index finger with Gorilla tape. The touch screen capability is diminished. I will provide a photo shortly.
It took some time to get these to fit properly, being that the palms were tight but the fingers too long. I thought these would last longer than the generic ones I usually buy (without the impact part), but they didn't even last half as long before all the fingers started disintegrating. Not even two weeks' worth of regular use before they fell apart. They look cool, and they're comfortable and all, but if they're not functional then what's the point?
These gloves lasted about 2 weeks of minimal use. I wore them occasionally when the weather was warm enough or the task required a bit of dexterity. They were about 1/2 inch too long on all my fingers. A large size is usually what I wear with this brand but these obviously had longer fingers then normal. I do mechanical maintenance and my tasks vary from day to day. I have had other Mechanix Wear gloves and i loved them but these just didn't hold up. I expect a $25-$30 pair of gloves to last a bit longer then two weeks. And I can not return them because of the date I bought them was a month before I put them in use. Bummed.
I wear these to do every day yard work (tree cutting, cleaning, etc.) I also use them when I go riding on my 4-wheeler. They seem decent but on one of the fingers the seams pulled apart between the leather and fabric. They work great other than that and if they weren't coming apart in that one spot it would be a 4 star.
