Let’s start with the pros: Looks like a real toilet Flushing sound is cute and my son likes to flush it.
Cons: Whichever engineer designed this needs to find a new career. This thing is so impractical! Assembly took 5-10 minutes. More complicated than other potties but I could easily handle it.
Attaching the “boy” piece is very complicated takes precise alignment. As soon as my son lifts the lid it falls off and I have to realign it perfectly to get it back on. My son lifts the lid every time. I’m constantly annoyed at having to replace the boy piece several times a day.
The lid to the top of tank does not snap on or stay put. It merely sits on top of the tank. If I choose to move the potty it falls off. When my son sits on the potty, the lid falls off.
The issue is that it doesn’t snap on and is a heavy piece because of the battery compartment. when my son plays with the flushing lever, he always knocks it on to the ground.
As a working toddler mom, the last thing I want to make time for is reassembling a potty that falls apart several times a day.
I emailed Summer Infant to ask if this was normal or if I have a defective model. They did not address my concern. They just asked about where I live and said they don’t ship there. Thanks? Worthless.
This comes with a splash guard (for boys) that does not stay on; it falls into the potty. Summer Infant sent a replacement and the replacement part was even worse (and the finish on the replacement didn't match). Without the splash guard, the raised "bump" in the front is still generally too low and most of the time a little boy will end up peeing over the top of it (and all over the floor). The idea behind this product is great, the execution is horrible. For the price, I expected some minimum level of functionality, but was sorely disappointed. Save your money for an alternate product that actually works well.
Very cheaply made so it will easily tip over as baby gets on and off- Clip on slip guard is so poorly attached that baby can easily remove. Flushing does not sound like a toilet at all. Top comes off so baby tries to take this on and off constantly. Would not purchase again and do not recommend.
My daughter wanted to use it for her dolls, that’s how tiny it is. Bought this potty to train my son but it was too small for him. My son is 33 lbs, very small and this potty was too small for him. He would sit on it and look at me and laugh because he thought it was a toy. The back of the potty, where the flusher is and batteries are installed, was extremely loose and would come off whenever he sat down. He would flush and the back would completely detach and fall off. Flusher sound was very muffled and low. My son used it a couple times to pee in but it was really hard for him because he had to focus and sit a certain way so he wouldn’t pee all over the place. Even if he stood up too pee it would be an even bigger mess, urine everywhere. I always had to keep spray cleaner next to it so I could clean up the mess. Didn’t work for us. Bought him the large potty seat for the regular toilet and it’s worked perfectly. I would definitely go with a potty seat instead of a teeny tiny potty like this one.
Top comes right off the back and is super cheap. the pee guard pops off super easy also. If you want your toddler to take the top off the back part with no way to hold it on then this is great lol. Buy one less than 10 dollars and skip this fancy one
This may be SEMI ok for girls but definitely NOT for boys. The pee guard is awkward to maneuver for a toddler and they WILL make a mess without it. It pops off when my son is trying to sit down and I have to try and put it back on while he's sitting; which isn't super easy because I have to lift up the seat with him on it in order to slide the guard back on. Not to mention the fact that, since the guard pops off so easily, it gets lost.
We've had this for over a year and the novelty of it was not worth the trouble. Especially since the top with the cute little flusher also pops off extremely easily.
Anyone who has a toddler knows that things that pop off easily WILL be taken off by the toddler and lost. So, here we are, more than a year later. No guard. No novelty flusher. No wipe holder. And no potty trained toddler.
