I bought this for my feet which are quite sensitive to dryness. The mint definitely has a cooling affect, and my intention has been to use this foot lotion to soothe feet which are swollen from the heat and from standing up at work most of the day.
I think it will be effective for that, but also: Yesterday was tough and I ended it by doing a lot of crying. Normally, when I cry just before going to sleep, it’s not unusual for me to wake up with an intense sinus headache, for which I usually need to take Excedrin in order to see any results. I’d like to use fewer medications, when possible, to avoid negative long-term consequences from using them, so my first recourse when I have a headache has been to use pure peppermint oil. Usually, however, I’ve needed to follow up with Excedrin anyway.
I ended up trying some of the peppermint foot lotion, just around and under my nose, and on my forehead (I had seen the reviews in which people said to be careful to avoid the eye-area). I was really pleased with the results, which were even more effective for me than pure peppermint oil. I woke up with a very minimal headache, and I am really glad to have found something to help myself prevent sinus headache pain before it even gets going.
For years I've used Burt's Bees coconut foot cream, but it is terribly thick, greasy and creates a film on the skin that lasts for days. Now I use Peppermint Foot cream. It rubs in completely and keeps cracks from forming on my soles. Great product!
I am a fan of the current Burt's Bee foot lotion. Although the current version (formulated in 2016) is the product pictured on the Amazon website, the old version (2012) was the product sent sent to me. The product is separated and stinky. Unfortunately I bought 9 tubes, all as Easter gifts for family, and now have to return them all.
Most Burt's Bees products are excellent. This one is a nice smooth not-too-greasy lotion that feels good when applied to one's feet. I was hopeful it would have a cooling effect; sadly this product does not give the cooling effect of peppermint.. I expected better of a Burt's Bees product.
This peppermint foot lotion was said to be very soothing for tired feet. The only thing soothing about it is the rubbing that happens when applying it. It does have a nice peppermint smell, but don't expect anything more than that.
If I use this cream every time I shower, my feet don't crack or peel. It even slows down the development of calluses. Smells wonderful and a little goes a long way. I order here because I can't find a store locally that's ever in stock!
