Excellent product for the price with a few shortcomings. The maximum distance from the keyhole to the speaker base is 8", not 8.7" as described in the product description. The round speaker holder is rimmed and doesn't provide a good contact area to the speaker base unless you screw it to the speaker base. I wish it was either flat or there was a rubber pad on it thus holding the speaker in place, the current design makes the speaker slide forward a bit. I put some some adhesive tape underneath and it is holding well.
Because the speakers I have, the distance from keyhole to the base is 8.5", I had to use the horizontal bar provided to extend it and for that reason I had to use both the screws for one stand. I contacted the Mounting Dream team and they were quite understanding and generous enough to send me an extra pack of nuts to complete the installation.
I would recommend this product.
EDIT: Less than three weeks of use, one of the speaker stands just broke from the base, just above the threaded section. It was behind the sofa, it fell on the sofa and then crashed to the floor. Luckily I wasn't on the sofa, otherwise it would have caused a head injury. My speaker now has a few scratches and the speaker cables got pulled off. I would not recommend this product. Do yourself a favour and pay more for quality stands. I am returning these and would stay away from this brand/seller.
EDIT: I changed my rating to 3 star as I am quite happy and impressed with their customer service. They contacted me after reading my review and offered me compensation for the damaged speaker which has already been remitted to my account. They also promised to improve their design and come up with a better product. It is a rare thing to see someone going out of the way to satisfy their customers. I would definitely keep them on my list of favourite sellers.
They generally look fine, and have cable routing inside. Lots of options for mounting the speakers to them, and are sturdy enough for Micca MB42X's (I used the top two screws from the speakers on their backplate).
As for why I gave 3 stars: - Inside of the tubes is a lot of sharp edges; left gouges in my cable after getting them through - One stand isn't straight.. I think a defect in the base's threading left it slightly angled - The mounting options, as plentiful as they are, aren't great - nothing feels *super* sturdy because of the back brace - The bases look a bit goofy in my opinion; I expected as much (would prefer just a circle or square), but was hoping they'd look better in person
All in all, the only thing I really hate is the one angled stand - that's an immediate 3 stars from me. But they do the job fine for cheaper stands.
Product was easy to setup, however, my speakers aren’t compatible. It seems like these stands are designed for bigger speakers. I was able to hack around it and have them sit, but the speakers then sit lower than desired. I can prop it up with a box, but it doesn’t look too pretty then. A bit pricey for me considering the previously mentioned issues, but could be good for larger speakers.
It tries to mimic the Sanus stands for Sonos but there are big differences. This stand looks aftermarket with no floor protection. The mounting bracket is bigger than the speaker. Does not compliment the Sonos speakers at all. I spent the extra money and got the real thing.
These speaker stands have a lot of different parts to make them compatible with almost any speaker. But neither onkyo or fluance could fit. In all cases I had to drill holes in speakers and mount with screws. Half of the box with different parts to mount speakers is useless. I guess without useless parts these stands could be cheaper.
Unfortunately the pair I received were produced with little quality control. One on the stands wasn't cut/welded properly on the end, resulting in the speaker being held at an angle. These are also not suitable for small speakers. I bought these for small satellites that connect to a sound bar, and the setup looks odd since the mounting base is larger than the speaker base (to avoid this, make sure your speakers are at least 3.75" deep). UPDATE (April 6, 2017): Customer service reached out and offered to replace the defective adjusting tube. Unfortunately I already have different stands arriving today. They also brought up the valid point that my photo does not depict a properly mounted speaker. You may notice a screw is loose, this is because I was in the process of removing the speaker when I took the photo. I'm adding two photos that attempt to better illustrate the defective tube I received. Defect aside, these do seem like sturdy stands...and props to Customer Service for reaching out. I probably would have taken them up on their replacement offer had I not ordered a different set already.
