**After initial assessment and review ... I washed these shorts, hung them to dry and then packed for my vacation. At my destination I was sadly unable to wear these shorts when I unpacked as they had shrunk from being washed. Be very cautious and order LARGER than you expect to need... and wash them BEFORE you take them on holiday**.
I ordered the size I would regularly wear and they fit perfectly. I was actually quite surprised at the quality and comfort of these shorts. They are so light weight and I can see why they would dry quickly. They are also very comfortable to sit in ... stretch ... but don't "look" stretchy if that makes sense. The length is also very nice ... as shown in picture. Just getting ready to order a couple more.
I got a size larger than I normally wear but what surprises me is that there's a velcro fly! I'm not a guy and don't need an extended length in the crotch area -- so these are not women's shorts or the manufacturer doesn't understand how women are built <shaking head> If I can, I'll be returning these. Too bad because the colour is great but I don't need a saggy crotch to add to all the other issues I've got :)
Not at all as pictured! What I received looked excactly like my husbands board shorts! Cargo pocket, drawstring waist with Velcro closure. Not very flattering for women, unlesss men's clothing is what you normally wear
Too small in the butt, too wide on the legs. Nice length though. So many plus size shorts are cut too short. The waist and fly are a bizarre design. Why they have a criss cross shoe like drawstring and a velcro in the same spot is beyond me. The waist has a partial elastic waistband so a simple drawstring would've been better. The drawstring kept getting tangled with the velcro. I appreciate when companies try to fill the void in plus size clothing, but they often miss the mark with function and design. Here's a tip - there is no point in making a fashionable fly drawstring area as most bigger people don't tuck in their shirts nor wear short shirts as we are trying to cover our tummies. If you're going to add a drawstring, put it on the inside so it doesn't stick out and make a bump under our shirt.
Material is VERY thin. Not what you'd expect for a board short though I imagine it could lend to drying much faster.
I am returning mine as they came with white stuff on the front and back amd smell HEAVILY of perfume. This leads me to believe someone else has worn these for more than just trying them on despite tags still being attached.
They also did not look exactly like the photo but close enough that it doesn't matter. They have an elastic stretchy band across the back half of the shorts waistband.
I did try them on over a pair of leggings (because ew and I wanted to know how they fit if I just washed them rather than return). They are very loose in the leg on me and slightly loose on the rear. Cut is more like men's board shorts where the leg is straight instead of tapered. If you're looking for something a little more fitted but not too much, these are not the shorts for you.
The shorts also hit me mid knee when I pulled them up like high rise bottoms. If I didn't pull them up that far it looks like I've got a full saggy diaper as I do in my men's pajama shorts I stole from my husband. (Lol) This is another reason why I think they're more of a mens cut.
I am 5'7", 250lbs, and built like a pear. Literally. Take a pear and slap a head, arms, and legs on it. That's me.
