This tape is super sticky. It stuck to my fingers making it hard to stick to the fabric because it was stuck to me. And the adhesive does not just wash off. It held my vinyl together quite well, but I had to start over because the needle gummed up & caused skipped stitches. I was using a Schmetz titanium coated needle. And I used a piece to mark a line on my sewing machine bed before I knew how sticky it is, & I can’t get the last of the residue removed. I’ve tried nail polish remover & rubbing alcohol. Most of the goo is gone, but a thin layer of residue is left that is still sticky. I am really bothered about this. And you better lay your pieces together right the first time, because it is difficult to pull apart & it will remove some of the fiber if you are successful.
The good news is it sticks things together really well which is also the bad news. I wish I could return it, but I didn’t try it until past the return date. I will never use it again, so is wasted money.
This tape has been great for securing vinyl to fabric and it's easy to sew through. It will gum up a needle over time but I am using SCHMETZ Super NONSTICK Needles (found on Amazon as well) that work fantastic and can be easily wiped down.
Great stuff! I use it bag making- attaching straps that then get sewn down. Try to avoid sewing through it on on more delicate materials/go either side of it. Also used to tape a metal house number that fell off and it is super sticky, holding tight.
I use this tape when making handbag straps, wristlets and key fobs. Works great on cotton, faux leather, canvas and cork to hold strap together before sewing. Very strong adhesive and does not wash away. Use wherever you want a firm but flexible hold. Works great!
I've been using this to make full felled seams in 15oz #10 canvas and it does really well and keeping everything in place. So much easier. The biggest problem is that it really gums up the needle to the point that it traps the thread. After each section I'm having to take the needle out and clean it with goof off.
This stuff works great. I got it to use on leather and it really sticks well. It'll hold my zipper on, nice and tight while I stitch it. I've tried other double sided fabric tapes but this is by far the best I've used.
