My 2.44 m cable broke after 15 months of usage. No idea why or how as it its out of the way behind things. I've moved house once in this time and it may get moved occasionally for cleaning but otherwise I've no idea how this has happened. Been plugged in and out maybe 10 times in it's life. Tested with a multi meter and the inside conducts OK but the outside conducts intermittently as you move the wire around. Almost worse than a complete break for something like a hifi system.

The cable was causing a low distortion to come out of the other speakers on my setup - am probably lucky this didn't break anything. Relieved to have finally got to the bottom of the interference issues I've had. I had also bought a longer version of this same cable for another sub. I've bought a replacement for that as I don't want to risk it happening again.

I don't think these (or the amazon basics range in general) are bad products given the prices. That said, amazon are just whitelabling these and the QC will be as low as the factory can possibly push. It doesn't make sense to buy decent gear then cheap on the cabling. Makes me think I should probably cheapo phone charging cables as well!

Having moved my surround sound system, I needed a different length of subwoofer cable. This provided a good tight connection and, after tests, was every bit as good as my previous (and much more expensive) subwoofer cable. It is worth stating that its tightness is adjustable as the cylindrical gold sleeve has a number of cuts around the circumference so that parts may be bent in or out as required. In my case, no adjustment was required - compared with a Syncwire cable I also bought which was loose and had no adjustment.

don't waste your money on this its terrible.
I'm surprised how thin this cable is from the other reviews. I plugged it in and immediately noticed the drop in quality from the Phono cable I had already hooked up. Took it out and threw it in the bin. Don't believe the reviews on here its rubbish.

This is a quality cable and easy to work with as it's not stiff.
