The bag looks very good. Perfect for 17 inch laptops.. Bought this bag as smaller bags were looking like school bags for me especially who is over 6 foot tall. It's been 10 months now and looks very sturdy as I carry lot of stuff in it.
Definite head turner as it looks good with red and black accent..
Has 4 pockets on the side.. very handy. 2 pockets in the front. 2 main compartments.
Excelente, llego antes de tiempo, lo cual me parece muy bien, cabe perfectamente mi MSI de 17.3 pulgadas a simple vista se ven los terminados de muy buena calidad, muy recomendable tanto el producto como el distribuidor.
I bought this pack for my Alienware 17R4 17.3" laptop and it does not disappoint. There is plenty of room for the laptop and power cord with brick as well as room left over for other items that you might want to add. The 17R4 is a large laptop and there still a bit of wiggle room within the PC compartment. As someone that carries my laptop often, I appreciate this because my last laptop ended up with lots of scuff marks on it as a result of loading and unloading the laptop as it was a tight fit and would hit the unpadded sides of the pack. In this case, that doesn't happen but there is still an internal stretch strap that helps keep the laptop in place without moving around. This was a concern that I have and this is one reason why I've waited several months to post my review; I wanted to make sure to give it a decent test first. All of the attached photo's are of the pack and my laptop and as you can see, it very easily fits.
For anyone wishing to compare to another laptop brand. The dimension of my laptop are: Thickness: 1.18 inches (29.9mm) Width: 16.7 inches (424mm) Depth: 13.1 inches (332mm)
This is supposed to be for a laptop, but there is no padding in the bottom of the backpack. If carrying it by the handle at the top, and the pack is dropped or put hard on the ground, there is no padding on the bottom to protect the laptop. Every laptop backpack I have owned has had this feature, which is the main feature that makes it a "laptop backpack" and not just a "backpack". Also, the space on top for headphones to come out is sealed and not open. If I want to feed headphones through, I will have to cut a slit or a bit of the material away to do that. Maybe this was on purpose, but it is hard to discern if it was done by mistake or on purpose. The lack of padding in the bottom which is a mistake makes me think the lack of an actual hole for headphones was also a mistake.
I bought this backpack as a gift for my brother who is a college student. He commutes and often has to bring his large 17.3" Lenovo Y700 laptop with him. I had previously tried other bags for him but had trouble finding a bag that could actually fit his laptop inside of it. This bag did the trick.
First off, the bag seems to be very well made. The materials feel sturdy and durable. The shoulder straps are padded and very comfortable. There is plenty of padding inside the bag, especially in the laptop specific compartment. What really makes this a great bag though it the space. It can hold his bulky 17.3" laptop and still has as much room left over as a normal backpack has without a laptop in it. This bag has two huge compartments and several smaller ones. It also included a buckled strap that can go across your waist which helps when the bag is loaded with stuff. The zippers seems to be well made as well, although the teeth are a little on the small side.
This bag really is huge, so it may not work well for children or smaller adults. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and my brother loved it as a gift. If he runs in to any issues with the bag not holding up well I will update this review to reflect that.
I was a bit hesitant to order this bag based on the few reviews of the straps breaking. That's not something you want to happen with a $2k+ laptop in the bag. However, the majority of positive reviews and the warranty helped sway me to the purchase.
The large size is exactly what I was looking for and is perfect for my travel needs. This will pretty much replace my roller bag on shorter trips. I had a Targus bag that lasted about 7 years before a seam ripped. If this bag lasts half that long I'll consider it a win.
It feels really well made and is much more comfortable to wear than the smaller, lighter Targus bag it's replacing. It almost feels like there's some sort of light suspension plate in the back - similar to what you'd find on lightweight overnight backpacks. It helps hold the shape and distribute the weight better. In fact, I had this delivered to my hotel on a recent trip and it was able to hold everything I packed plus the Targus bag for the return home. And it was much more comfortable to wear. The height of the bag is perfect for me - being 6'6" I need a bag built for a longer torso.
So far the only issue I've found is the zippers - they tend to skip a tooth if the compartment is stuffed full. I'm a little concerned for longevity but for now it's easy enough to avoid.
The waist belt is a waste belt. It provides no support and it would dig in to your skin if it actually held any of the bag's weight. I will be cutting it off as soon as the warranty period expires.
One minor annoyance is the length of the shoulder straps. There's about 2 feet of extra material hanging from the adjustment buckle. I guess it would be OK if you wanted the bag hanging below your waist. But that's just silly. Those are getting trimmed as well.
All in all I'd say it's a decent bag for the price. If I have any further issues I'll be sure to update this review.
I recently replaced my 17" MSI Gaming laptop with another 17" MSI Gaming laptop. My old laptop just barely fit in the 17" bag I had for it. The new laptop, although not a thick as my previous laptop, is a little bit longer. I did not feel comfortable using my previous bag with the new laptop.
This bag is huge. It fits the new laptop with room to spare. I could easily fit another of the same laptop in here. It should accommodate a 18.4 inch laptop without a problem. There is also plenty of room for extra HDMI, Ethernet, USB, etc. cables. I also carry a few tools for working on the laptop if need be. There is plenty of room for a change of clothes or a few books.
The one thing that would make this bag even better is if it had more zippered storage inside the bag. There are two zippered compartments inside the bag, but they are very large. I would have preferred 4 small compartments vs. the two large. It wasn't really anything I would have thought of before buying the bag and it wouldn't have kept me from buying it, it would just have been nice. The two large compartments hold a lot, but stuff can easily move around since they are large.
Absolutely the best backpack I have ever owned. Yes, it is perfect for large laptops and peripherals. But it is a tough, attractive bag that you can use for travel, back country camping, or smuggling small people into dance clubs (maybe?). My point is that this thing is roomy. And the number of pockets and storage places is phenomenal.
The designers took their time and thought through the creation of this bag--which I appreciate beyond words. There are so many poorly-designed products shoved into our faces today. It's RARE to find such a well-done product that is WORTH what you pay!
The zippers are strong. The straps are thick and bounce resistant. The bag is well padded and very comfortable. It seems capable of carry a LOT of weight. It has a strong velcro strap for any laptop you tote inside.
I love the design. You can carry around dozens of things securely without the bag being a jumbled mess of belongings, because there are so many places to tuck things away. Pockets within pockets. And the zippered compartments are of differing shapes and placed in intelligent areas on the bag, so that whatever you put in them does not get crushed or smacked around. So, if you are an organization freak, this is the bag for you.
I will definitely be buying more of these (for me) and giving some as gifts. Great job, FreeBiz!!!
