We used this camera with our first daughter and have had it for 2 years, so we decided to purchase an extra camera for our 2nd daughter’s bedroom. We have had a great experience with the first camera and never had any issues. It’s easy to use, sound and picture are more than adequate, the range is great (our driveway is 1/10 of a mile and the monitor almost reaches to the end before losing signal). HOWEVER-the second one we purchased does not display an accurate temperature. It’s about 10-12 degrees off. I even returned one and purchased another and it is still off. I’m not sure what they changed in the 2 years since buying the first one, or if it is a glitch in pairing two cameras with one monitor, but we really rely on the thermometer to determine if we should put the fan on, dress my daughter in long or short sleeves, etc. Pretty disappointed about this, as it says one room is 73 and the other on the other side of the hall is 85. There would definitely be a noticeable temperature difference when you cross into the room if this were the case. Bummed!
When adding an additional camera to the monitoring system the vox system does not work as effectively. there are times I can hear my 4 month old crying from a floor away and the vox system does not turn on. This did not happen when only one camera was being used. This is my first video monitor so I don't know if this is normal but there is a lag of a few seconds when you manually switch the camera. Also the first camera is on a constant switch while you can constantly watch the second camera. Another odd thing is the cameras switch back and forth from the first camera to the second even when one child is crying it switches and vox mode will click in and shut the system down. It is a little quirky. We don't have the money for a more expensive monitor system so for the money this one serves our purpose. We have a two year old that we like to make sure is not climbing out of his crib and a 4 month old. We do not watch the monitor all the time. We use it as a quick check system so it serves our purpose.
We’ve had this monitor for 2.5 years now. We’ve loved it. It has worked great, the signal reaches far! The picture isn’t the best, but you can obviously tell what the kid is doing. We stick it right above the crib and look down on the kiddos. We recently added a second camera and have fallen out of love with this monitor. When switching through the two cameras, you can’t leave the screen off. It turns back on when it switches to the next camera. It’s rather annoying, so we have to sleep with the monitor face down. Also, since we’ve added a second camera, the battery life has gotten way worse. This isn’t a problem per se but just annoying. The vox setting has never worked with our sound machines (Marpac).
When I was pregnant I vowed to keep things simple and not buy in to all of the crazy do dads they have for babies now days. I got a super cheap sound only baby monitor and figured that would be fine. What I didn't realize was how scary silence can be to a new mom! After 7 months of accidentally waking my baby to check on her when she had been sleeping a little too long I decided to upgrade to this video monitor and I'm so bummed I didn't have it from the beginning!
This monitor is so simple to set up, basically plug and play. The picture is clear enough that you can see your little ones breathing movements. The microphone is very sensitive. I like that it stops transmitting sound if the room is quiet so you don't have to listen to that constant buzz of feedback. I really love the temp reading! I also never bought a room thermometer so we've just been guestimating the temp which has also kept me awake with worry. The lullaby feature is cool too. I think the price is really good for how well made this little gadget is. Highly recommend!
I had originally purchased my first video baby monitor here , and loved it ! Well now we needed a second one and I was so happy that I do not have to purchase a new type of monitor because this one can hook up to 4 cameras total!! It automatically goes back and forth to the different screens when they are paired every couple of seconds , and you can hit one button and go back to a different camera on your own ! Still has all the same features , you can talk thru with , play music , set alarms , etc. Its the best of both worlds !
This is my honest review. I purchased this monitor in 2017 when my son was born. I typically only used it for when he was napping and I wasn’t right there next to him. Now I use it for when he is playing in his room and I’m in another part of the house. But it’s gotten to the point where the monitor is constantly “losing connection” in places of my house where it had worked before. It’s become so frustrating because I have to go to the camera piece and see what the problem is. Mind you the camera is not where my one year old son can reach it. Sometimes it will he days where I just go without a monitor (which I hate doing) it decides when it wants to work and when it doesn’t want to work. Oh and the entire year that I have had this monitor, I have seen the video in color maybe twice. Seriously you have to have a freaking lamp right on top of it for any color to show up. It’s always been in black and white. The two way speaker is the worst as well. I only gave it two stars because I have had it for a year and some days it does do its job. But most days it’s not even worth using. I just wish I would have looked into othe monitors before purchasing this one.
We have been using 2 cameras and the monitor for 2 months now. The system is great! It is small and easy to move around. (Our baby has lots of sleeping spaces.) I love that I don't need to reconnect each time, just re-plug in the camera, line it up, and it's ready. I can fit the monitor in my waistband or pocket as I go around the house, unlike my friends with giant screen monitors. I'm very impressed with the image quality. I also like that it doesn't connect to wifi for security reasons. The range has been great. We went to the lake and I was very impressed that it worked from the bedroom all the way at the end of the pier. I really appreciated being able to be outside without worrying about my little one.
Bought as a second camera to connect to our already existing monitor. Camera itself works great, but for some reason having two cameras on one monitor doesn’t work so well. The monitor has trouble switching between the cameras and seems to have more connection issues. Frustrating enough that I wanted to return the second camera and just purchase a whole second set, but I missed the return window so I’ve just been struggling with it for a year. I think our monitor is almost shot anyways, so I imagine I’ll be purchasing a new set soon enough.
We got our first hello baby monitor after our Summer monitor started having connectivity issues. I love this monitor and I was happy to see you can connect multiple cameras. It was easy to do, just follow the directions. We don’t use the vox mode or lullabies but as far as everything else is concerned, I can attest it works like a charm. The camera view cycles through every 5-10 seconds, which is great. (Push the button in the lower right corner of the monitor -the zoom/camera button- until you get the little circular symbol around the camera number on the top of the screen.) I plan to buy another one of these cameras when our third child is born.
